This is my prediction as well.
Before Covid, the economy was doing well under Trump. The economy got much worse during Biden's presidency which is one of the reasons Trump for elected this term.
Unfortunately, politics arouse so much emotion, that we really can't have an honest and open conversation. The truth is that our economy has gotten very bad these past 4 years. Trump gives hope to alot of people. Stocks and Crypto have exploded since the day Trump was declared the winner. His advisors aren't career politicians but instead very influential and successful leaders in tech. His promises of cutting barriers to innovation and money making gives hope.
Additionally, Democrats have alienated much of their base with their stances on Trans and immigration.The majority of the US doesn't agree. If the economy improves these next 4 years, Vance will be the next President. Instead of focusing on discrediting or obstructing Trump, Democrats should be developing a candidate for the next election. Instead they will likely run Gavin who will lose.

The stocks and crypto crowd aren't the ones that got him elected. Prices will still be high - the President can't control prices, but now you Republicans will be blamed for all of it. Trump has already stepped back on his promise to lower grocery prices.
If he implements these tariffs, prices will be even higher - on everything. Republicans not passing a minimum wage hike, so if you were poor under Biden, you'll be worse off after Trump.
All of the nations problems will be blamed on Trump and Republicans. And they have a year to fix them all before the 2026 midterm campaigns start.
I do agree they need to give America a full does of the Trump they voted for though. Let him get rid of the ACA and have tens of millions of people with no health care. Let them pass a national abortion and birth control ban. That will drive the 15 million Dems that sat this election out back to the polls.

Imo Dems lost was due to two factors:
(1) bigoted and racist people who didn't want a female, let alone a black female, as President coupled with their fear of losing their place of privilege to non-white people
(2) undereducated, uniformed, ignorant voters of all races who couldn't see farther than the price of gas and groceries not understanding that the President controls neither.

What you are missing with the Tariffs plan is that our goods will be more competitively priced and there is a plan to lower our income taxes with it. It may or may not work, but for all of us, I hope it does.

I'm giving Trump the same amount of hope for success that Republicans gave Obama and Biden. Republicans didn't spend a single day hoping either would succeed. You guys are always FUCK JOE BIDEN but then "Hey, give Trump a chance!"
And what Trump's simplistic view of tariffs doesn't understand is that these countries have levers they can pull as well.
