Future vs Young Thug
Future is a hard battle because he can come off at so many angles he was featured on tons of songs thanks to Khaled, had a early run then had another run with Monster up until now. Thug like someone else says has his own fans and has put on more people than Future has.

Their shit really stands the test of time too. It’s going to be 20 years from now and SB/LB gonna still sound new.
I think Outkast is the best rap group but because of Run Dmc doing a lot of things first for the culture cats still won't move them off that pedestal. I listened to way more Kast and I don't think anyone would want a solo album from Run or DMC with outkast their dope alone too.

I never been big on Run DMC. They got a lot of credit for being the firsts but if we talking duos.....off top Outkast, UGK, Mobb Deep in front...I’d even put Clipse in front.

Right. One of them the world stopped for them moments. They ended up with 1.8 on IG right? I watched it on Apple Music so I know them numbers was well over 2 million. That’s a pretty powerful outlet for music consumption.

Kanye really needs it. Kanye and Wayne really should battle because their careers could use a bump.

Yeah. I think it topped out at 1.8M and hold steady at around 1.6M for the entire show on IG.

their music fueled alot of the players in multiple sports. Gilbert Arenas the only one that took stay strapped too far.

No doubt. I'm just speaking to @dtownsfinest saying that A-list musicians/rappers might jump on now. That was a bit of a mainstreaming moment last night. It's no longer just "for the culture" now... it's getting front-page coverage on mass media outlets now.

Mobb Deep?

That's the debate we used to have back and college and for a few years after that. I use to be neutral..but as I go back and listen to the albums, a lot of Mobb Deep shit sounds dated.. it's still really good, classic shit.. but it sounds like mid-late 90s. I'm not knocking it because it's my favorite era for rap, but I think Outkast made genius-level albums. Some of their shit would just blow your head off when you first dropped it in. I'll never forget going with my boy to buy a Kast album at best buy... dropping that shit in and getting hit with the OutKast ATLiens intro and looking over at my boy like these niggas done gave me the wrong album

Starting at 6:40 he talks about why he didn't react to all the blatant disrespect.

He knew Gucci was going there because Gucci and his fans knew Gucci couldn’t beat Jeezy off music alone. Jeezy fans came for the music, Gucci fans came for the drama. All they talked about was Gucci diss song where he talked about killing Jeezy homeboy and how they would never be in the same room with a man who sent someone to kill them

Hammer and Will Smith two non-threatening rappers of the golden era. What's not to like about this vs.? Personally I was not high nor a fan of either one but I know the old school mainstream heads would eat it up.

They did their thing. One of the few east coast acts that got love outside the east coast. EPMD beats slapped hard and even west coast heads fucked with them and a few down south as well.
They did Erick Sermon was staying in Atlanta early on when he was making his first album I think. It sucked they had that little beef that broke them up and E dub went to become more prominent by himself as a rapper and producer.

According to my tape deck neither did Hammer

Summertime
Brand New Funk
Men In Black
Parent's Don't Understand
Gettin' Jiggy With It
Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble
Ring My Bell
The Things That You Do
Boom Shake The Room

I see where you coming from though regarding Will Smith. Hammer is wack but extremely high energy. Hammer has calmer songs but his biggest hits were high energy songs. Will is overall more balanced and better overall but does not blow you away in any category because he is very marginal. I still think this would be a vs.

Only a few east coast acts got love? That sounds more personal, than factual.

Parish was by far the better rapper though.

Shit at that time that might be true. I never heard no one play EPMD Down here the chances of that happening now is more likely the rap game really isn't region based like it once was.

Naw.....they ain't my GOAT but shit if you want to put that on them that's cool. They'd be in my top 10 but their catalog just doesn't compare to Outkast. Nobody can.
EPMD got like 5-6 albums
Im taking them over outkast any day
Two diff eras so im not comparing them
Outkast lost me after ATaliens and dre turned eccentric
