I'm at 270-275 and working to get down to 260. Just finished playing my last season of semi pro football where I moved from d end to d tackle. Now I'm trimming down and doing a complete body change.
No porn, no sweets, cutting back on sugar, salt, process foods

Workout 1 of the day
Half mile run(4:45)
100 tire swings
Tire flips and jumps there and back
Tire drag there and back
Then carried it there and back
Total distance between mailboxes 85ft there and back
I need to get my half mile run down to 4:30 or better. I alternate 2 mile days with jump rope.
I got catchwrestling/kickboxing class tonight
So far today all I've eaten is salmon and eggs over easy
I'll keep y'all updated and appreciate nutrition and workout suggestions. I'm taking B12,l-arginine and drinking beet juice and dark cherry juice(all organic)
Also a gallon of water a day. Nothing but water and maybe green tea

If you want to ensure lots of veggie intake in your daily routine ... get into the habit of making veggie smoothies at home.

All you need is stuff like spinach, kale, etc. Keep it simple - mix it with water / ice / whatever.

In case you're worried about excessive natural sugar intake via fruit. Some people tend to overdo it with bananas, strawberries when they are doing primarily fruit smoothies. And of course shops / restaurants ruin it by adding sugar and other shit.

Best of all ... quick and easy to make. Guilt-free too when it comes to veggies.

Agreed. They make for a great combo. Like you said - just need to be weary about the natural sugar intake.

A good combo (believe it or not) is blueberry / spinach. Have done that one a number of times. Like I said ... just go heavy on the spinach.

props to you homie
i've lost 50 lbs or so during the last year

joined a High Intensity Interval Training gym called F45
best decision I've made in quite sometime...i need the struturce and support of the community & trainers. More expensive than a regular gym but cheaper than getting a personal trainer.

i workout now about 6-7 days a week and will being doing a Spartan race in the fall
I've plateaued a bit but i think the next step will be getting serious about my diet and running a bit more

Make the changes slowly cause a drastic change will lead to failures and do overs which is just wasting time but start here...

Salt-pink salt
Grease -oliver oil
Startches-vegetables
Snacks-fruits
Soda, juice, Gatorade -water...u can easily drop 10 pounds by cutting those drinks out.

Beef-chicken, turkey,fish
Condiment-sugar free or don't use em at all

Stay away from bars, shakes and the rest of that shit you see some doing on the net... keep it simple, it's not rocket science just decreasing calories where everything counts.

I just joined E2M. Looks like it's full of 16 hr intermittent fasting, meats and veggies, no fruit or sugar. Plenty of water, black coffee if you drink it and sugar less tea.

Also, weight lifting of any type is better than just cardio but just move more and stay disciplined.

I got serious about exercise back in 2015 when I hit my highest weight ever. I stayed at least about 30 pounds below that ever since, with some peaks and setbacks. I'm usually about 40 pounds less than I was then.

Here are some 2016/17 journal entries and what my Fitbit logs show:

2015 was when I hit my heaviest weight, nearly hitting 240 at 6'0. Started exercising and dieted intensely, lost 50 pounds, finishing that year under 190.

2016: "I went from 235 to just over 165 in a year (lost about 50 with hardcore focus in the first six months, then about 20 over the next six)." Mid-to-late 2016 was my lifetime fitness peak. "My weight was relatively stable over the last six months from that point; lost some fat but gained some muscle. Was somewhere just over 170 before I went on vacation a few weeks ago; pushing 180 at the moment... I don't have an ideal weight but I just need to re-lose my vacation fat, which is relatively minor, and my main goal is to start putting on muscle and gain definition. My point being that I'd love to gain 20 pounds if it was a good 20, meaning muscle. Its good to be at a point where you're looking at gaining weight rather than losing."

2017: "I peaked about a year ago and I'm not exercising as much because it's a time suck and I'm not as motivated as I was then but I'm still exercising regularly and around the same weight. I think being too motivated with concern for your physique is just as sad as being a fat depressed slob, so I think I'm good with my level of motivation (which is largely female-centered-- I'm definitely too young and healthy to be doing this for health, though I'm sure [or I hope] I'll appreciate the residual benefits one day). Also maintenance doesn't require the same motivation as does transformation."

2019: Got a Fitbit, started weighing myself regularly in late 2020. Clocked in at 205 initially.

2021: Good fitness year, lots of exercise. Heaviest was 200 in May, was down to 175 by the end of October. Guess I had a happy holidays because I finished the year at 186 and was at 197 by the end of February 2022. Weight range of 25 pounds.

2022: Relatively consistent year-- Slowly and steadily lost weight from Feb through April and got down to 190. Ended June at 193, ended July at 188, ended August at 179-- low point for the year. Back up to 190 by the end of October, ended the year at 195. So the whole year I stayed in a 20 pound range, from 179 to 197.

2023: Good first three months, stayed between 192 and 197. Mid-April was the start of a bad streak-- I was overeating and I stopped running due to knee issues. I consciously took a break, thinking it would set me up for longer term success if I let my body heal. Didn't weigh myself for a month and was up to 208 by the end of May. Ended June at 209. Got back out there in July, ended the month at 198. Ended August back at 192. Range: 17 pounds.

Keep up the great work everyone.

I was down to 193 on Saturday. That’s the lowest I have ever been since graduating college. My peak was 220-225 last April.

I ran a 7:51 mile during my 3 mile run the other day. I feel great to be 39.

Now, I got TWO puppies in my life now (10 week old Pomskies), and one of them is going to be my running partner. So I’ve pick up my sprinting some.

Along with the sugar cut out all them starches. Potatoes, rice, beans all that shit. Drink water before and after every meal. Get plenty of sleep. Increase your protein and healthy fat intake. I'm about to drop down to 200 lbs for the first time since my sophomore year in high school.

Man, I need all that as a runner. I burn so many calories during a run, it doesn’t take much for me to tap out of energy.

Carbs for energy and protein for muscle building. My energy depletion runs usually consist of a salad the night before. The next day I’ll run at least 3 miles at a high pace. The last mile I turn up. By the time I finish my heart rate is up to 175 bpm sustained for at least 1.5 minutes. As soon as I stop, it feels like I can barely catch my breath, but it’s one of the liveliest feelings to have when you push your body’s energy capacity.

I can burn 1 to 4 pounds in a single 26 minute run.

Here’s how you can lose fat fast

1) slash your meal in half or for some 1/3 of what you usually eat.

2) eat from 2pm to 5pm, hopefully no later than 6pm. This is what was slowing down my fat loss. I was eating my meal late at night which does not align with the body at night. It slows down your fat loss cause those calories around bedtime is stored as fat cause the calories/food is not being used for anything so it’s stored in your body as fat. Eating food around 2 to 6 is being used for energy but that energy used around bedtime is stored as fat!

3) try to eat once a day, if not more than twice!

4) cut as much on the high sugar and high carbs!

5) do high intensity training!

I'm a couple of years younger than you, last weighed in at 192 and 3 mile runs are my thing... I had a 7:59 today and a 7:39 yesterday.

(The zone minutes discrepancy is because my phone tracked it today but my watch died mid-run.)

I wonder if I could hit 7:00 if I tried my hardest. I never sprint-- My main goal is to get through the whole 3.5 miles or so without walking at all, which I've been failing at lately.

I think I'd probably do much worse overall if I got closer to 7 but I might give it a shot one day this month. I value my overall time most-- today's 8:39 average with a slower top time beats the hell out of 9:11 yesterday with a slightly better start.
