My current three-woman rotation (which is not really a rotation) features three women that look like Mona Azar, Ashlyn Peaks, and Carmela Clutch facially and are a bit thicker (honestly heavier) and despite the really wanting to meet up with a cute dark chocolate woman I keep defaulting to these "Safe" light-skinned women.

Some black owned businesses take advantage of some black customers
This is fact. There was a baking in North Philly where I grew up that was super good quality. Once they got a following and started accepting Access for cakes, the quality dropped and the prices went up. They were charging black people $200 for a bland ass sheetcake with basic decorations.

There is this place in SE Houston named Just Oxtails.

$30 for a plate of oxtails, and $5 for a cup of Kool-Aid.

I just realized how disgusted I am about how we black people joke about driving miles out of the way to go to the "good store" instead of the same store in a predominately minority neighborhood. That shit is fucking sad, it's not funny. We've become so accustomed to black employees being shitty, that it's acceptable and we force ourselves to see the humor in it.

Cars are evil.

Don't get me wrong I accept that people with certain jobs and certain disabilities need them no matter what. I also believe that anyone who wants a vehicle should be able to buy whichever one they can afford.

But it's a real problem when people NEED a car to get to a minimum wage job or get to the store to buy a single pint of milk.

Cars are terrible for the environment

Our need for cars causes people to live sedentary lives. This contributes to obesity and related illnesses.

Car ownership leaves people wide open for price gouging from the dealership, mechanic, gas station, highway patrol, etc. It's the reason most of us don't have $1,000 in emergency savings.

Cars force businesses to surrender up to half of their property for free parking

Cars force businesses and homes to spread further apart which makes city services way less effective.

Cars kill tens thousands of Americans every year which puts a huge strain on emergency services.

Traffic tickets occupy the police and put a huge strain on our courtrooms which increases crime.

Likewise, cars make people far more likely to come in contact with law enforcement which makes it easier for the police to commit more crimes of their own.

Cars make drinking and drug use far more dangerous

Roads and freeways are ridiculously expensive to maintain.

Cars have brought us close to the brink of extinction as a species. What's America's solution? Make cars that run on electricity. Even though the average Tesla driver uses four times as much energy has the average subway rider uses to go the same distance.

We need to stop building our cities and our lives around the automobile. It's an outdated and dangerous technology.

Not true.

Japan and most of Western Europe share the same love of technology we do in the united States. But they've redesign their neighborhoods to be more walkable, put in bike paths, and ramped up the public transportation system so that people don't have to drive.

Like I said before, I understand that some people need cars just to be able to do the jobs, because I'm one of them! If I'm DJing a wedding at a family farm in the middle of nowhere the only way that I can get myself and my massive speakers there is in an automobile.

Also, I have nothing against people who want cars being able to buy whichever vehicle they can afford.

But why does the guy who flips burgers for minimum wage at McDonald's have to choose between buying a car he can't afford or taking a 3-hour commute on a broken down bus? I believe this is a biggest reason why we have so many people trapped in poverty despite having the highest median income in the world.

Also, why is it that we have a housing crisis that pushes a rent of a two-bedroom apartment past $2,000 a month, but it's still free to park your car outside on the street?

Why does Houston, the fifth biggest city in the country, spend over a billion dollars to expand a freeway but won't spend half that amount to put in a light rail system?

Why do we treat vehicles better than the people forced to drive them?

your talking about a different culture and mindset. I like going where I wanna go when I wanna go. I dont like waiting for public transport nor being stuff like a tuna can in a crowded vehicle.

If you can afford a car and choose to drive it instead of taking public transit then more power to you. But that should be a choice, not a requirement.

I'd also like to point out that the reason you have to wait or get shoved into a moving sardine can it's because American public transit is horribly underfunded and the cities are poorly designed.

thats the culture of capitalism+classism/racism more than the fault if technology itself

Forcing people to use this particular technology makes racism, capitalism and classism even worse.

For instance, Racist transit cops still face WAY more accountability than racist highway patrol.

When people lives depend on a technology that keeps them broke it becomes a lot harder to rise above their social status.

As for capitalism. It's bad enough that you're on the hook for $10,000+ just to buy the damn thing. Now you have gas, repairs, insurance, and thousands of dollars worth of depreciation to deal with. Got a violation you can't pay off in 30 days? Now you're paying a collection fee to private company. If you don't pay that portion and continue to drive (because you have to) the police can slap on bigger fines and throw you in jail constitution be damned.

It's a capitalist wet dream.

I would add flying shouldn't be the only viable option for long-distance domestic travel. We need real highspeed rail coast-to-coast.

I used to go to a vegan joint called Houston Sauce Co in Houston and they would charge damn near $20 for a burger and fries. Ridiculous.
Restaurant prices. I don't really eat burgers too much but I've been to a place that have burgers nearly as expensive and there isn't anything particularly special about them. They were good but nothing out of the ordinary.

I dont wanna get into a who's generation suffered more pissing contest but I'm PRETTY SURE chattel slavery and the medical tech of 17/1800s is by orders of magnitude much worse than anything we're dealing with. Hell, pre civil rights era society and tech is worse than anything today.

Nobody's gonna disagree with you. The thing is this society is still fucked up in many ways and there doesn't seem like the problems are being solved but are getting worse.

I actually have a business idea to combat that. I don't know where in the hell I'm going to get the capital to start it though, but the business plan is sound
