1) How bad was it?
2) When was it?
3) How did they respond?
4) Is it part of a pattern?
And most important
5) How good is the artist?

Over the years of one awards I didn't deserve and lost to people who didn't deserve them. I've concluded that all artistic competitions are rigged.
Sometimes they're rigged for you. Sometimes against you. But any competition based on opinion rather than a tangible result will always be biased.
That's why artists need tangible goals. If you're rapping to afford a Lamborghini make Lamborghini music. If you're learning guitar scales to impress the ladies make pussy music. If you're a folk singer trying to shut down fascists focus on that.
The recognition comes or it doesn't. There's little you can do about it so there's no sense bragging or complaining.
