they were tellin them, you tryin to be like them cocolos, the latino community
as a WHOLE did NOT embrace hip hop AT ALL...
there was a large percentage of latino youths that were part no doubt...
but the only reason many of them got exposure like the rock steady crew,
is because they were mostly lightskin latinos and were considered more marketable,
but in the begining hip hop was pure american chocolate bruh..and the latinos involved were soley
puerto ricans that hung out with cocolos, many and I mean MANY went the racist italian route...
and even if there were other bruhs from the islands outside the game,
that shit was NOT repped at all..I do remember krs1 reppin a lil Jahmakin sound but thats it, but no doubt about it
. NOW that hip hop is infused in damn near
all forms of music, erebody claiming that shit...
but lations as a whole back then are the same now,
