BIG FACTS to both of yall. After this incident, his spot in high profile films like summer action blockbusters or prestigious late fall/early winter oscar bait dramas is over. He gon have to fall back and do lower profile projects like Hitch and Focus. Or he can go the independent film route and do A24 movies or something. Man is about to go from commanding a salary of $25 million a film to potentially doing projects where he would make 300K-800k at most (since indie films have significantly lower budgets and its more about the art with them)

And as for that I Am Legend sequel, I GAURENTEE that Will is gon have more of a background role and MBJ is gonna be the actual star of the film, and I felt that BEFORE this incident. Shit for all we know Will might leave the project completely and have MBJ the only star in it. Will allegedly was trying to get a Marvel spot in an upcoming project but that shit DEAD now.

And because of their relationship, Chris couldn't just immediately press charges and sue.

It's a difficult situation for Chris. For some, it's easy to make a decision to press charges and/or sue.

I don't know what's best for Chris. But Will absolutely can go on without consequences of some sort.

I think a lawsuit (settlement) would be the best course and one I think most people would understand.

I think the real issue is that he escalated the situation beyond what many would say was reasonable.

And to your point, yes this is mild in a sense of overall violence. However, the stage it took place, the audience, the parties involved all contributed to this being far more high profile than your average crime. Whether he loses it all is out of his hands. That's the consequences he signed up for. He gave those that love to see Black men fall from grace & torn down enough ammunition to destroy everything he built over the 30+ years.

Chris Rock can't save him because his forgiveness of the situation only makes Chris out to be the bigger man. And the court of public opinion has already judged Will as a violent person with a crumbling facade of a marriage.

Will is an accomplished superstar who has already done it all. He has already been winding down from big summer blockbusters etc for years and is much more active behind the scenes now. Plus his actions were clearly some spur of the moment shit.
