Ben Franklin and Pliny are correct and those are definitely words to live by but from Tony's tone and talk, it seems like Will's silence bothers him the most, Will is not giving him any new material.
Furthermore, lets be 100% honest, Chris Rock doesn't have everybody on his side, Marlon Wayans went at Chris in his special and Lil Rel Howry accurately pointed out how white folks came and put extras on everything. Even Chappelle said in The Dreamer "I am Will Smith. I am the man that cannot take it anymore and will slap the shit out of the next person that says a cross word to me or somebody that I love."
Hell, this became more of a Jada issue after a while and people seemingly started being sympathetic to Will due to her.

It's not about "at this point". It's about something that Will never did. It won't stop me from watching Will's movies, but many people still won't watch them. And it's because of his attitude after the slap. I lost more respect for Will for how he handled it. To be honest, I didn't respect the fact that Will liked to coon it up in movies when it wasn't necessary. But that didn't stop me from watching his films either.
