So I skipped some pages to get caught up, but it feels like there isn't much more or new to be said at the moment, anyway.
All I know is a lot of people keep saying Will should've considered the consequences when it seems like he almost definitely had some sort of mental or emotional break in that moment. Yeah, he should have thought better of it, but by definition, you don't think rationally when that happens to you. The fact that the instinctive reaction of so many people was to try and console or support him after that moment would seem to support the notion they (in this case, Hollywood performers as a collective) understand on some level being under pressure and reacting poorly because of it. I take serious measure in the fact that Denzel seemed empathetic, because we know he has had to have been through some stuff.
Which isn't to say that I think Will is out of the woods. The longer this plays out, the worse it will continue to look for him. I doubt they will take his award, because that doesn't benefit the Academy, either. But he'll probably be punished somehow, and then, depending on what happens after, people will probably move on to something else long term.
