Picard season 3 episode 1 off to a roaring start from the music to the visuals im all in even though some threads are somewhat predictable it is great to re unite with The Next Generation cast for one last adventure.

y000000 I was hesistant to watch, but i bit the bullet and Binged. The old formula with updated visuals and the seeing the old cast. Great series!!!!!

been a minute...havent been able to watch a whole lot of shows in the past year with the newborn but I did manage to catch up on a couple of shows recently.

watched the best man final chapters and thoroughly enjoyed it...my love for it was definitely nostalgia tinged...shit felt like catching up with some old friends after years and not missing a single beat. all the women looked fine AF..characters were well written and true to their original characters, it covered a lot of timely issues, great pacing etc.

Got covid last year and finally started watching House of Cards in Isolation. currently starting season 4

watched most of kaleidoscope...initially it seemed interesting, unique, and innovative but got played out after awhile and could/should've probably been wrapped up in less episodes

been watching INDUSTRY...its like a combination of Euphoria & succession. I saw the trailer a while back and felt the kids looked too damn young to be working at that hedge fund..took awhile to realize that
they're age appropriate and Im just old as fuck now. the first season was cool...had me invested with the ending of the first episode and in seeing Harpers journey throughout the season...second season is FIRE so far tho. currently on episode 3..only negative is a couple gay male characters and their scenes that we gotta fast forward through

She married some big time producer so she probably wont be showing her titties on camera again :smh:

The Recruit
2022

7.5/10

This series debuted this past December. It is a comedy, thriller series. I sat on it cuz as you know Netflix loves canceling series.

I was doing my monthly check going thru my stored list earlier this month to get status on series, and surprisingly this series got renewed for a 2nd season. So that’s why I decided to watch it. I started watching this past week on the road and finished this morning.

I was curious on why this series got such a quick renewal and discovered that Netflix got slammed with requests from viewers to renew the series ASAP. The series was in the top 10 for over a week, which is typical for new series. I doubt this series registered high on Netflix’s algorithms for viewership. I suspect Netflix went into panic mode after the recent blowback they been getting for abruptly cancelling good series before they had a chance to develop and gather a large audience thru word of mouth.

The main plot of the series has been done on a number of series/movies since the 1960s, so nothing new. The comedy is with the main character who is a recent Georgetown law graduate hired onto the CIA’s General Counsel. He is not a trained CIA operative and has no espionage training. The comedy is with him bumbling his way and getting himself deeper into the world of espionage. That sub-plot is similar to “Breaking Bad” Walter White’s character. In this series his law training helps him out.

Character and story development is spread thru-out the series. The opening scene is actually a Fast-Forward scene that happens in the season finale. After that the series starts from the beginning leading up to that opening scene.

The series is full of supporting characters from well known Netflix series/films that have debuted on the service for the past 10+ years. They all do a good job in their roles.

For the Thirsty, actress Kaylah Zander co-stars. This broad is 100% SMASH material in every scene she is in. This bird kills in every outfit they have her in. There is no nudity or sex scene with her, but there is a few shots showing that body in full glory fully clothed. There is one scene with her walking away down the hallway and you can tell they intentionally filmed it that way.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is an openly gay BM, all that is shown is him hopping into the bed with the main character (who is not gay) showing they have a close friendship. There is one scene with the gay BM laying in bed with a WM.

Like I pointed out, this is a comedy series. The comedy is not LOL comedy but done in a subtle way. Like I said the comedy is watching the main character bumble his way thru the series.

The series gives homage to the CIA in certain ways that they operate in the world of espionage. The titles of each episode deals with that on how the CIA speaks in code in abbreviations, cryptonyms, and codewords. The acronyms in the titles are based on dialogue spoken in that episode. Below is what they mean. Try to see if you hear them repeated in their episode.

• Episode 1: "I.N.A.S.I.A.L." = "I’m Not a Spy, I’m a Lawyer"
• Episode 2: "N.L.T.S.Y.P." = "Never Let Them See You Pucker"
• Episode 3: "Y.D.E.K.W.Y.D." = "You Don’t Even Know What You Do"
• Episode 4: "I.Y.D.I.A.A.C." = "If You Do It as Anderson Cooper"
• Episode 5: "T.S.L.A.Y.P." = "That Sounds Like a You Problem"
• Episode 6: "I.C.I.N.C." = "I’m Clenching, I’m Not Clenching"
• Episode 7: "I.M.F.T.B.S." = "It’s My First Time Being Sexpionaged"
• Episode 8: "W.T.F.I.O.H." = "Who the F—k Is Owen Hendricks?"

If you watch the series, pay close attention to what it is going on, even the slow, minor parts cuz the series takes a turn in the final episode. The final scene is what will hook you into wanting a season 2 ASAP.

Synopsis

A fledgling CIA lawyer gets caught up in a dangerous game of international politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her relationship with the agency unless they clear her name.

Yeah this was realy good i did it in two days

If you like most cw shows - you'll like it
the writing is CW quality, the story is loosely - very very loosely based on Ann Rice's books

Love the world building and costumes in this show, great Victorian period fantasy show, enjoyed the 4 eps so far and sad that its the last season

Carnival Row season 2, this series should be very popular with the Lord of the rings crowd but Amazon does not promote their own shit.

March releases for me

1) Daisy Jones and the Six: Amazon Prime
2) The PimpNo F***ing Fairytale: Amazon Prime
3) Shadow and Bone: Netflix
4) Extrapolations: Apple TV+
5) Power Book 2: Starz
6) Swarm: Amazon Prime

1923 This show continues to impress me. From the strengths and sadistic ways of some of the characters and their passions for each other and life itself.

The Flash well i can definitely tell the CW is assisting a lot of actors in finishing out their contracts with them. Well at least there were some cool WTF moments and i think Candice Patton would be a great Uhura one day.Better acting in this weeks episode because one actor/character actually had me convinced they were telling the truth for a minute or two still a bit of cheese though

Mandalorian Season 3 episode 1 Pretty exciting opening there is nothing quite like returning to the Star Wars Universe. I can already tell who's going to be a thorn in the side for Mando and Grogu for at least a few episodes. Nice nods to other SW shows and sci fi films

Talked to a friend yesterday evening and asked him what he's been watching, or had recently completed. He noted Shantaram, Andor, Wednesday, and he plans on getting all caught up on The Mandalorian soon. He's only seen a few eps of season 1, and wants to get caught up to the newly released season by the next week or two.

Talked to my dad and asked what he's caught up on. Gave him a bunch of saved stuff. He had finished SAS: Rogue Heroes, The Rig, and Fleishman is in Trouble. He's almost caught up with Poker Face and Shrinking.

He usually checks these ones out within a week of their release - I save them for him and we sometimes check them out together - 1923, Godfather of Harlem, Your Honor and Mayor of Kingstown.

I definitely have to watch The Consultant on Amazon Prime and support my girlfriend in another life Brittany O'Grady

The Last Of Us
This weeks episode gave me a little bit of everything !! The dark side of human nature was on full extreme display !!

The 1619 Project
2023

8/10

If you intentionally refused to not watch this series cuz it’s put out by a Black Woman, produced by Oprah and it being connected to the BLM movement.

Then you are missing out on one of the most informative series about Black America that has come out in recent years.

When watching it, you will fully understand why the Republicans/Conservatives and MAGA Minions are foaming at the mouth about it along with banning it with all this silly “Critical Race Theory” foolishness.

This is a 6 episode series with each episode running about one hour each.

The episodes are titled:

• Democracy
• Race
• Music
• Capitalism
• Fear
• Justice

Each episode deals with how slavery is affecting all 6 of what the episodes are about in todays world.

The “Capitalism” episode is my favorite. I will tell you that while/after viewing it you are gonna want to throw your remote at the TV cuz it drops some information that will surprise you. And it connects what Amazon is doing today with how slavery functioned back then….along with you being caught off guard on where Amazon built one of their fulfillment centers in Georgia.

I watched about an episode a week to allow each one to soak in, it’s not a binge type series I recommend you do the same. It’s also a good informative series for children over the age of 10 to watch and understand. This series definitely ranks up there with the classic “Eyes on the Prize” series.

Synopsis

Connects the centrality of slavery in history with an unflinching account of brutal racism that endures in so many aspects of American life today.
