TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

I think the Ted Lasso final season has been by far the worst so far. They’re taking 30 minute plots and stretching them over 60 minutes. And just way too much romance. Not a single woman on the show this year has been a real person, just half of a romance or fling.

Agreed. I was listening to the Double Take podcast (2 female friends) and they've commented in weeks past it feels disjointed.

Nate's storyline over here ... Rebecca's storyline over there ... Keeley here ... Ted and company there.

Not enough soccer. Feels like an afterthought. Hoping to see more with Ted's son / ex back home, etc.

Superman and Lois

Great episode but still predictable. I guessed the turn weeks ago, especially because the
casting directors did such a great job of making the characters look familial
Actually shocked they showed the brutality of one of the characters so intensely.

White House Plumbers

I have been enjoying all of the latest series about Watergate . This series leans more towards a humorous take on the events before and after the break in and focusing on E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy . I'm always amazed at the lengths this group took to attempt to take down the Democratic party

The Flash

a very interesting and involving episode with some pretty good SFX. Episode definitely hit some repetitive and cheesy notes
it's going to be interesting to see if the same story thread plays out in the movie

Going to check out the White House Plumbers pilot episode this evening.

Looks like it'll be a quick miniseries to get through. 5 episodes (all airing in May).

We're 8 episodes in and I'm pretty sure I've laughed a single-digit number of times. Nothing even made me crack a smile with the most recent episode.

They should have played Yellow Stone and the Star Trek series on CBS from the start.

Agreed. Had a few people asking me where to find Yellowstone and the spinoffs in recent years. Explained to them that Yellowstone initially aired on Paramount, but now it seems like they only do the season premiere, and the rest is Paramount+ (where 1883 and 1923 air).

Having shows like Star Trek & Yellowstone readily available on CBS would make them the most accessible to all viewers (all ages).

Also, I was recommending the series Coyote to a few people some years back. It was kind of tough explaining where it was located - as they weren't as tech-savvy in being able to track down the streams or downloads online. Per Wikipedia -

Coyote is an American crime drama television series created by David Graziano, Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert.[1][2] The series stars Michael Chiklis and premiered on CBS All Access on January 7, 2021.[3][4][5]

The series was originally ordered as ten episodes, targeted for sibling Paramount Network, but eventually was passed off to CBS All Access as a six-episode season.[6] In January 2023, the series was removed from Paramount+.

I'm curious

I never checked it out either. Seemed like it had a solid run though. Considering many shows don’t last that long on the major networks which are quick to cancel and alter their lineups and schedules.

I have no idea why I knew it would be cancelled though?

I remember the CBS shows all taking pay cuts and they mentioned that this show was still not renewed and I thought uh oh.

Agreed. Usually the shows that have considerable runs keep on going & going.

Watched him most recently in Goliath and 1923.

He's built up quite the filmography with his TV and movie roles. Dating back to 1986 in movies, and 1989 in TV ... glad to hear production for season 2 of Reacher already wrapped up 2+ months ago ...

Maybe Paramount+ will pick it up like they did with SEAL Team..

"From" is my favorite series right now. It's a horror suspense series about people stuck in a small town. They can't communicate with anyone outside the town: phones don't work. And no matter how far they travel in any direction they always end up back in the small town. The townspeople can't leave, but new people driving down the road who see a large downed tree become trapped in the town too.

Monsters--disguised as smiling humans, hunt and eat townspeople at night. The monsters will kill anyone outside, or inside a structure without a Talisman. The townspeople found Talismans that keep keep the monsters out of their homes. But if a monster talks you into letting them in your house it's a wrap.

I keep missing this series...

There was even a dedicated thread made and I can't find it

Hmmmm

:scared:

His role in Terminator 2 ... man ... classic.

Imagine how dope an actor you have got to be...

That the open handed run is still imitated and considered iconic till this day and became the DEFINITIVE way for all future "humanoid robots" to run?

Previously you mentioned enjoying season 1 of Somebody Somewhere. Here's a good interview with the lead ... listened to it a few days ago ... she comes on just after the 57-minute mark (timestamp is noted in the 1st link).

I love this show but they tested me with this one
