WELL! 0-3 isnt that bad to start off a season.
TO be honest I barely see the BEARS winning 2 games before the bye.

I need to practice my golf putting anyway on Sundays.

bad thing is we are supposed to have a easy schedule

Yeah, it's year three and he's still doing this
Today was the first time I'm actually trending down on him. He holds the ball WAY too long, isn't seeing guys, and his pocket presence as far as not feeling when to escape is horrible atm

..oh and CONTINUES to take drive killing sacks rather than just throwing the ball away. He has no instincts in the regard, THROW THE FUKKIN BALL AWAY!!

Better effort but still too many mistakes. The bar was low for increasing the effort over the previous week. The defensive line got pressure but couldn't close in for the sacks. The injuries to the secondary were apparent some of those prayers that Mayfield through up are deflections or picks if we have a healthy secondary. We don't have the depth to deal with injuries and still be competitive.

We need a starting center, not a repurposed guard, not a backup or practice squad worthy center. I like Jenkins but he's too injury prone. He can stay for another year primarily because we dont have much choice. The line will look better and have a different attitude when Jenkins is back.

Fields needs to get rid of the ball faster but the playcalling is abysmal. All of these fucking screens are reminscent of the Ron Turner tripe we suffered through before.

It's not just one thing but an amalgamation. The playcalling, indecisive and mistake prone young QB and the line being weak. I expected the defense to be weak but the offense looking like this is unacceptable.

Whitehair, Patrick and Jones are not starting quality linemen.

Defense was actually the bright spot today, minus Stevenson who looks lost.

Whitehair has been average to bad for a few years now but has had even worse guys on the line so he looked like the star of the bunch.

Fields is past the “young QB” label IMO, I get that some of it is scheme but as has been said previously, holding on the ball too long is his Achilles heal. It’s shit or get off the pot time for him.

Eberflus is not a good HC and was not ready for prime time.

White dude snappin on Eberflus... Eberflus looking like a terrible choice for HC. He got a pass last year but this year fans are going in.

This level of wipipo eating their own this early in a season is unprecedented in Chicago sports:

Cubs - The “June swoon” is what’ll set folks off, but they get a leash until about mid-July most seasons.

White Sox - Early June

Bulls - All-Star break

Blackhawks - Christmas

Bears - It’s normally around early November before the wolves come out after sniffing blood. Week 2? Yeesh. :smh:

Bear fans have read this book before, many many many times my friend lol. We know what's coming, I would be shocked if this team turns it around. The constant losing have left little patience with Bear fans lol.

We can agree to disagree on the young QB label. This is his second year in this system, first year with actual weapons but the line is still shit. Mistakes happen but its the lack of confidence he appears to be playing with. That is concerning. Designed bootlegs, NON SCREEN quick hitters, go deep. Even its incomplete, you have to make the defense respect your willingness to do so.

The line isn't the best but he is missing open guys and still making young mistakes. I expected to see growth and a higher comfort level in this system.

If the Bears move on Fields, I don't trust this staff to coach up a young QB or put them in a position to succeed. If you move on from Fields, move on from the OC at a minimum.

Bears fans didn't expect to go undefeated but to lose like they have has put blood in the water.

Fair points, especially the confidence. He looks neutered compared to last season, I mean I wanted him to run less so he didn’t keep getting the late hits (and no flags) but he looks PARALYZED in the pocket like he’s been told to try and make the throw or else.

It feels like we're still in the same position we were in game two of the 2022 season

Looking towards next years offseason

I'm close to wanting to clear everyone out.

I began this season optimistic.
It's fucking sad.
Just fucking sad.
90 mil to burn and not a thing to show for it.

Why don't we run the ball more instead of doing all these high school screen passes?

Because it worked for two plays in the preasoon?

And why the heck didn't Justin and some of the other healthy players play more during the preseason?

The other 2 questions I can't answer. But they def should run more traditional runs IN GENERAL. Especially earlier in the game, and ESPECIALLY instead of or if the screen pass clearly isn't working. Getsy is just a wacky play caller (like Nagy) and doesn't seem to have a feel for the flow of the game. He kinda just calls plays to call plays, rather than noticing tendencies and changing on the fly with the flow of the game.

Even with the few designed QB runs, I'm like "just run a play for the RBs and get them some touches to get them in a groove and keep our QB from taking any unnecessary hits.". IF JF is gonna run, I prefer 80% of those to sneaks or escaping when no one is open.

To keep my sanity, I'm taking things for what they are and looking for improvement week to week instead of having any expectations. I want to see improvement, and if their isn't, then I expect to see changes week to week until we get/look better (players AND staff included) ... and if we don't, I expect real changes after the season.

Whatever it takes. We shouldn't be hearing certain excuses about our deficiencies when other teams are dealing with the same variables and are having more success or look more prepared. This is supposed to be Professional Football.

One of Justin's best games was from his rookie year-'21- in a 24-14 win over the Lions. His passing stats 11-17-209-1-1 weren't great but he made some nice throws diwnfield and looked decisive and smart. What happened?
