Let me start by saying I don't like today's news but with this not being a qb competition to start training camp, this was always the end game. They committed to Purdy and signed Darnold to be the backup. Trey is the better qb with more upside but if he was the backup, WE would all want to see him on the field. They know that and they also know that we don't want to see Darnold EVER so this is the best situation for Purdy and hopefully Trey gets to make his money for many years to come on a team that gives him a real opportunity.
