Kov is bigger and hits harder than GGG.

right lol he can't handle ggg after literally taking the hardest shots of his career in a fight that he went the full distance on and won....
and people are really underrating how skilled ward HAD TO BE. Kov ain't no slouch.. the reason he couldn't do much isn't because he isn't skilled it's because Ward is just skilled that much better.

Kov is known for his power and he's a light heavyweight but Ward is gonna get overwhelmed by a middleweight?

Triple G has floored Kovalev with a body shot in sparring. I know it's sparring but still impressive.

GGG can hit. There's no doubt about that. Ward just got out of the ring with a hard-hitting LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT champion. Dude was making the argument as if GGG was going to be the problem because of his power. GGG is 159. Kov is 175. There is no doubt that Kov hits harder than GGG. He's a light-heavy that's known for his power. He hits so hard that he puts people on the floor with a fucking JAB. So GGG is gonna have to box Ward who will be the naturally stronger/bigger fighter.

It went from Kovalev getting schooled, to now him being floored in sparing???

Let me guess, this is from Abel Sanchez, right?

I'm calling Duck Tales.
Rumours have swirled in recent months, with some substance, that Kovalev was dropped in sparring by his friend Gennady Golovkin several years ago. Sergey addressed the claims with a smile.

“Did you see it for yourself? Don’t believe it then,” he said before explaining, “In sparring, sparring happens. We are not swimmers, we are boxers. Anything can happen.”

As Golovkin’s name threatened to overshadow proceedings, Duva stepped in.

“Sergey used to spar with Gennady all the time. At the time, Sergey was an eight-round fighter, and Gennady was a world champion.

“Let’s just leave it at that.”

When Marcos Villegas of FightHub caught up with Kovalev's trainer John David Jackson to get his reaction to the story, here's what Jackson had to say:

"Sergey and I, we talked about it, and he said it was like one of the first days he got back in the gym and he was terribly out of shape and he got caught with a shot and he wasn't ready for it.

"They're friends and he said he doesn't like sparring with Triple G because he has to really try to hurt him [to keep him off of him]. He said 'I don't want to hurt my friend.' He said Abel Sanchez wanted to make a war out of it and he said 'I don't want to make a war, that's my friend, why should I have a sparring session and make a war out of it?' [Kovalev] said it's not about that but [Sanchez] wants to have a war and we're friends and we're just trying to work with each other.

Meh. If Abel Sanchez says it, then it is not to be believed.

GGG hits hard as hell and is a better schooled fighter than Kovalev but he is physically a smaller man than Andre and thus the dynamics of that fight would be different...Ward would be able to use that rough, bullying inside game to greater effect

Ok but his trainer John David Jackson said Kovelev told him it happened.

Yea, I see that now in the link you provided. Anyhow, I don't think it means much of anything. One can easily see that if the two were to actually fight with 8-12 oz boxing gloves, Golovkin would have little chance at winning.

Weight classes exist for a reason, and Golovkin is keenly aware of this as evidenced by him avoiding everyone north of 160lbs.

There are two a long standing rumors about FMJr. One was him getting rocked and KO'ed by Judah in training, and the other is him being schooled and beaten up by Lamont Peterson. I don't believe either happened (especially the former,) but even if they were true, we saw what Floyd did to Judah in a real fight. And, while Peterson is a very good technically sound boxer, he wouldn't stand a chance come fight night.
