The Brixton man is sceptical as to whether his rival will accept the bout, but insists he would take it if it became a realistic possibility.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman revealed that his organisation have mapped out a plan to order Whyte vs Fury as a final eliminator to resolve their current dispute with Whyte, who wants to challenge WBC champion Wilder.

However, Sulaiman also claimed Dillian’s team had not accepted the ruling and instead wanted his upcoming fight with Oscar Rivas to become the final eliminator.

“I’m the ‘can man,’ whoever want it can get it,” Whyte exclusively told Drive.

“I’ve been trying to fight Tyson Fury for a number of years now. We’ve made multiple attempts and it never happened.

“If Fury wants to fight, he knows where I am. But I can’t see the fight happening.

“If Tyson fury can walk away from a rematch with Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight world title, why would he fight me for the ‘interim’ title? It doesn’t make sense.”

Whyte currently remains locked in an argument with the WBC as he feels he’s been unfairly treated by them – most notably in a situation that arose earlier this year.

The 31-year-old heavyweight was initially ordered to face Dominic Breazeale in a final eliminator for the WBC ‘interim’ title, only for this bout to be pulled out from under his feet.

When the Wilder vs Fury rematch fell through, Breazeale jumped up to challenge the champion on May 18 instead – because he was existing mandatory having beaten Eric Molina in a questionable final eliminator back in 2017.

As a result, Whyte’s team claim the WBC have ‘protected’ Wilder and are now campaigning to make him automatic mandatory, though the governing body have other ideas.

“There’s a lot of things going on with the WBC at the minute,” Whyte continued.

“Everyone knows I’m very angry at them and the way I’ve been treated.

“Everyone knows Deontay Wilder should’ve been fighting me and not Dominic Breazeale.

“But for some reason the WBC insist on protecting him…

“It’s a funny subject, I can’t really say too much, a lot of these boxing authorities are very touchy.

“The public can see what I’ve done, how many WBC title fights I’ve had, how many times I’ve defended my number one position. It’s crazy, I don’t understand it.

“Now, with the WBC, I think it’s just delaying tactics by them…

“It’s frustrating, it’s stressful, it’s a bit disheartening to be honest.

“Tyson Fury could’ve fought Oscar Rivas, he said no, Anthony Joshua could’ve fought Oscar Rivas, he said no, look who they’re fighting.

I a starting my own sanctioning body, the WBF (World Boxing Federation);
I am anointing Ife Ajagba as the initial heavyweight champion. He has
3 years to fight nobodies and get up to par, at which time he can fight
Anthony Joshua. His fee will 35% of his purse through the fight with Joshua
or Wilder

Joshua vs Ruiz Jr: Anthony Joshua warns Dillian Whyte that he's only looking at Deontay Wilder

IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Joshua will defend his belts against Andy Ruiz Jr on June 1, live on Sky Sports Box Office, and wants to agree an undisputed title fight against WBC holder Wilder.

"I'm not looking at Dillian anymore, I'm looking at Wilder, because he's got the belt," Joshua told Sky Sports.

"Ruiz Jr? Provided I get past him, Wilder, that's my main objective. Simple as that."

Whyte was in the running to become Joshua's next opponent and avenge the only loss of his career, sustained in late-2015 with the British title on the line.

After knocking out Derek Chisora last December, Whyte was considered as a challenger for Joshua's world titles but couldn't agree a deal. Whyte will instead fight the unbeaten Oscar Rivas on July 20, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

"Dillian Whyte had his opportunity to fight me April 13," Joshua said. "Dillian had a chance to fight for the titles, he felt it was a low-ball offer, he wants to build his value and compete against Rivas.

"It's a tough fight, it's a very tough fight, but providing Dillian comes through, it [accelerates] him onto the next stage of where he's trying to get to and that's becoming heavyweight champion of the world."

The stakes were raised for Joshua's upcoming title defence when Wilder knocked out Dominic Breazeale inside a round last weekend.

Wilder then said about fighting Joshua: "It's going to happen, it will happen. I believe in all my heart it will happen. I don't want this to be a Lennox [Lewis] and [Riddick] Bowe situation, I definitely don't.

"The heavyweight division is so lit right now, it's on fire right now. I think it is our obligation, our duty to give the fans what they want."

Promoter Eddie Hearn added: "The fight with AJ and Wilder is the biggest fight in the sport and all being well [with Joshua vs Ruiz Jr] it must happen next - no excuses, this is the fight that will change the sport globally.

"It's a legacy fight and AJ wants it so bad. Two big, fast, dangerous and fearless world heavyweight world champions that can turn the lights out with a blink of the eye - it's a must."

An undisputed title fight with every major belt at stake would mean Whyte's wait for his first ever world title shot would be delayed further.

Whyte is ranked No 1 with the WBC but was overlooked for Wilder's most recent defence in favour of Breazeale.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman suggested Whyte could face Tyson Fury, who held Wilder to a draw last year, in an eliminator before challenging the champion.

Whyte told Sky Sports about Fury: "He went from saying 'I'm not fighting Dillian, the WBC should give him his chance, he's done everything he needs to do'.

"The next he says: 'I'll fight him and knock him out in six rounds'.

"He's always contradicting whatever he says. He says: 'I'm the lineal heavyweight champ, I don't need no belt, no sanctioning body, I'll fight any man, anywhere'. Then now he's saying: 'give me the WBC diamond belt and I'll fight Dillian'. He makes no sense.

Dont know much about Ruiz...is AJ in danger here beyond the usual punchers chance?...I know Ruiz has good hand speed, good power, slow feet, chubby shorter fighter....don't know his level of opposition and how he has looked against said opposition

His height might be a problem for AJ, and counter punches from Ruiz. All AJ has to do with Ruiz is stay on the outside and pepper him with jabs then wait to land a right hook or uppercut on Ruiz when he comes in. Maybe work the body a little to get him to lower his hands. Sort of like what he did in the Povetkin fight.

A lot of people believe Ruiz won the Parker fight.
