Anyone ever worked 7 days straight?

You sound like a lazy bastard,no wife,no kids but worrying about being home.

Go do some damn work!

Now is the best time to stack as much chips as you can.

If you don't mind the work you should get as many hours as you can. Make the money while you can.

I work as a chemical operator also and it is a demanding/stressful job @ times. The money is good but the working conditions are not that great. I think about quitting that bitch all the time, but I need to grind it out for a while longer until I can move on to something better. I never really get used to the 12+ hour rotating shifts. If I were single I might have said fuck it a couple years ago.

Our plants are perpetually short-handed so there is always an opportunity to work overtime. The problem is that most guys don't have the desire or energy to work extra days when they have had to bust their ass during their regular shift.

I have a few coworkers who eat that OT up like it ain't no thing and some that won't work unless the have to.

The staffing policy is set up so that if you or someone else does not volunteer to fill in the open positions you will be eventually be asked or drafted to work anyway.

After this weekend I will have to start signing up for overtime again just to keep from falling to the bottom of the list.
And I really could use the extra $$$ :D

BTW: We are not allowed to work more than six days in a row.

I have been working 7 days for two months now.No days off. I do it for my son ima single father, and he needs the world.

WTF??? It says 1,691 square feet. No way that house is that small unless it's a one story. If it's just one story the rooms must have 30 foot ceilings.

But yeah, even 1,600 square ft in Miami is going to run you some serious change. Vegas, Texas, and Atlanta got the best housing markets hands down. I would move out there if I could.

Vegas...? I gotta check that out...

Shit, last job I had before I started my own business, I worked 8-10 days regularly. One stretch,
I worked 22 straight days. And I was in management (supervisor) so no overtime pay.

I'm so glad I'm my own boss now.

Shit at my job they asking me to work a extra 3 days on overtime. The older guys on my shift are like man do it we need you. Being new I do want the overtime ,but on the same token I want to be home. Making over 3k in a week would be a pleasure.

I work two fulltime jobs... try months without a day off... lol

7 Days?

7 Days?

I've had to work 21 days in a row back in the day. 12 hour shifts when UPS went on strike back in the day.

Made me appreciate the good jobs I've had since. I roll my eyes when someone complains about having to work an extra day when all they do is work at a desk, in an air conditioned office with some leverage in how they deal with their boss.

If there's money to be made, make it

I just got finished working from June 7th to August 3rd. If you can do it, do it.

shit,..im a chef in nyc 7 day is normal, i've 28 days and no ot. on salary baby boy

When you are on salary time or days has no meaning!!!!
:(:(:(:(:(

I felt the same way when I worked for Catapillar. Those mofos will have your ass working 30-40 days straight if your state does not have a Union. I thought that shit is illegal but I saw a lawyer and apparently it is not. :angry:Yes, the over time is great but when you have a family, that is not good. Your kids want to spend time with you but you are too tired to pay them attention and I don't want to even talk about quality time with the wife. If she is not getting it at home she will get it someplace else. Not to mention the parking lot was like a fucking hotel. Everybody married or not was cheating. Spouse would scout the parking lot just to catch their husband / wife fucking. I was amazed of how many peeps got caught. Not to say that I am an angel but, most of the good looking bitches layed with multiple cats that I know and I’m just not having it. Anyway, after 3 months of slavery, I quit after I found another job that pays more with less hours. I can tell the difference it made with my relationship with my wife and kid. Making money ain’t shit when you don’t have the time to enjoy it. Not to mention all the free time I get to have browsing bgol.:D:D:D

lol 7 days, shit when i used to work for brinks, them bitches had me work 14 days straight, 7:45am to 8pm each day

When I was in the Navy Reserves I would work my 7-3:30 job monday thru Friday and then go to the Reserves Saturday & Sunday from 7:30-4:30 THEN work Monday thru Friday again at my regular job. that's 12 straight days

I'm 6 days a week and working every weekend....I cant complain cause I make out the work schedule for everyone....my company runs 24/7.:hmm:

man if you got a wife and kids, i can see how that can take a toll on you but either way in these times of money having less value and jobs being dropped, you cant go wrong. Do what you got to do, not what you have to because you dont have to and still work there.

Yea i did that during holiday time workin at music factory( if u live in ny u kno what im talkin about) i had to make that money

shit,..im a chef in nyc 7 day is normal, i've 28 days and no ot. on salary baby boy

Them mofo's are raping your ass having you work and not be compensated. Yeah you salary and all but that OT doesn't go towards your 401k so fuck that. I get 401k on my shit from overtime.

Man Mo work that shit...fukk else you gonna do...argue here...bullshit with friends...fukk your girl...? I'll guarantee she'll fukk you better once she see you working hard for a little bit and you got some time off with extra $$$ cause of it...you ain't got no wife and kids...grind nigga...

So I'm not a bitch ass nigga?

WAIT A FUCKIN MINUTE.... HOUSES LOOKING LIKE THA FOR 160K!!!!!!!!!!
HERE IN VIRGINIA YOU GET THIS SHIT http://www.roseandwomble.com/Real_Estate/VA/NEWPORT_NEWS/SUMMERLAKE
work and get that money.. hows the job market there ?

The market is great down here. Jobs are everywhere.

I went 32 on 12 hour shifts in a hot ass factory. I hated the south they make you work!

I once worked 7 days a week for nearly 6 months. I took off 3 days for vacation in that period of time. Me and new wife had just made plans to save our money for a new home. They poured the foundation on a Tuesday and I found out she was pregnant the next the day. 2wks later she had all kinds of complications and the doctor took her off work until the baby arrived :(. Her job paid her very little short term leave pay and I the whole dam burden of that house on my back. I had a office job so the stress was more mental than physical. End the end I save enough money for the down payment and it took 3 trucks to bring all the new furniture. In the end it was worth it but that shit took a serious toll on me. When it comes to money you have to make it when you can because later may never come. If your young and single get your lazy ass out there and make that money

Maybe buying some property out there wont be as expensive as I thought It would be.

Americans Pride Themselves So Much On Overworking.

Bush And Crew Supports It And Loves It.
Wonder Why.

sorry to put a damper on the threads excitement.
but some of these comments are halarious.

Done it frequently running my own painting & decorators contractors especially with penalty clauses written into the contract. A couple of memorable occasions was a school,we had to complete during the seven week summer holiday - worked 7am til 10pm luckily I only lived 20 minutes from the job, the other was for 3 months (during winter) working 12 hours with a total of 5 hours commute per day. If you don't know painting ain't no sitting on your arse job its a thorough work out every day!

If you need the money do it! Opportunity don't come to often.

Make sure you change your exemptions to the max during your OT time if not you'll be catapulted into a higher tax bracket and you wont get that much extra.

The way the economy is....shit mayne, TAKE ALL THE FUCKIN' HOURS YOU CAN!
When I started workin' @ the post office, I did a week str8.
Now it's one day off a week. The commute's hell but, fuck it, I got my tunes to hold me over...

Figure this:

STAYING HOME, NOT WORKING = LESS $$$, POINT BLANK...

That reminds me, gotta leave for work in a half hour...

i worked a nuclear plant outage 12hrs a day everyday for 3 months. saturdays was time and a half and sundays was double time.

I like the west coast...the weather is beautiful as shit...just concerned about earthquakes...I don't think Vegas is as prone to earthquakes as some cities in Cali...someone check me if I'm wrong...plus I am a stone's throw away from Cali if ever I wanna breeze through real quick or whatever...and the strip is always fun too if I ever wanna do that...just don't wanna overdo it cause it would get stale real fast...not etched in stone cause I am finally comfortable where I'm at but if I had to move anywhere else I would consider there...I gave up on Charlotte/ATL...

7 days straight is pretty good.

My record (working in the health care field) is 38 DAYS STRAIGHT (and about 1/5th of those I also did doubles for another level of craziness on my part!).

I've worked some crazy hours in recent years ... by choice. My record is 370 hours one month. Isn't a full-time job 160 - 184 hours on average a month? Fuck. Hell ... I know some friends who work (by choice again) 7 days straight at all times ... and average weeks of 80 - 96 hours. Crazy. INCOME TAX IZZZZZZZ A MUTHAFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKA though.

I havent worked 7 days in 1 week in a long time. I did in the past though, about 10 years back, my job now has me traveling a lot and I spend a lot of time away from home but I cant really call it work , considering I am at my office for about a total of 8 hrs. a week. Dont trip though my brother it will be greater later, and just keep grindin till u get to be where you want to be.

Fuck that, I can't be a paper slave. Money is not everything, you can't sprint in the first mile of the marathon. It's better to go to school, get you a good job or hustle, save as you go, and coast through life. Economics is easy, spend less than you make, it's very simple. 60% of most materialistic people's money goes to insurance, tax, and interest. Don't buy shit you don't make money on or don't use frequently. Niggas love to look at their money or impress other people. Save and invest wisely, you don't have to work that bullshit 7 days or overtime bullshit.

You can always make money, but you can't get your time back. Work smarter, don't work harder!

Co-frakin-sign!
I need to set my hustles back just like when I was making nearly half of what I am doing now and especially save the difference. Making all that money has make me spend way more easily and I am tightening myself back up!
