I missed this from a few days ago re: $SCHD, etc. This is the first time I can recall seeing ETF stock splits. It seems kind of senseless to me since I imagine a lot of folks just DCA fractionally anyway. Plus, the NAVs aren't even high (at least compared to the Vanguard and BlackRock equivalents).

It could benefit the options market though, right?

As individual investors it doesn't effect us, not sure how it effects instiutions either. You are right we will continue to DCA fractional shares anyway.

Someone posted this on reddit:

Schwab is probably doing it because they don’t offer fractional shares. Maybe this is in some way easier or cheaper for them to do than to offer fractional shares on the platform in hopes more people will use their platform.

Funny enough, I opened an account with them a few days ago but haven’t put any money in yet. Someone from Schwab called me and asked if I had any questions. I told him I haven’t decided yet because they don’t offer fractional shares, and he immediately said “that’s completely incorrect. We have stock slices on the stocks in the S&P 500!” And I said I don’t buy stocks, only ETFs, so that doesn’t help me. You know what this moron said?? “I don’t know any company that offers that. I’ve never heard of fractional shares for ETFs anywhere.” I literally couldn’t deal him. I just giggled and said ok. There’s no fucking way I’m about to educate your ass. Don’t think I’ll being using them now.

Not that it was any of my business, but I thought Tom Lee was gay… I definitely want to try Bianco’s pizza.

Oh, you’re not Aquaman and you can’t pull a sinking ship to the shore? IBM was finished 30 years ago. What you should be doing is observing the decay of this behemoth and learn you something. I think Microsoft is cooked too but they don’t know it. Imagine me telling the world’s largest company they’re done-done.

One toe alone has enough nitrogen to build a small fertilizing company. Nothing regional just local and barebones. But that’s how you get better; you get better by working on your craft.

I think I mentioned this about IBM in the past. Poorly run with too much outsourcing.
What’s the right concoction of outsourcing?

Yall seem to have a hard time understanding that money isn’t confined to imaginary borders like you and I. Money is antithetical to the silly idea of nationhood.

Indians, have not learned from the British Experience wants to try their hands and this exploitation stuff again. Good for them. The poor can’t help but be ridiculous.

Friendly reminder ... if you've got money you keep around (in savings or checking accounts) to have readily accessible when needed (emergency funds and such), keep an eye on some of the promotional high-interest savings account rates in recent years. They've gotten better with some of the promos, and it's worth transferring some $ over.

For example ... some of the local banks are doing 5.35 - 5.75% currently until the end of November, then they'll probably re-offer similar promos in December or January.

Otherwise some of the basic rates were in the 0.2 - 0.7% range.

I'm just waiting on some other investments that are maturing from late-October to early-April. Those were investments in the 6 - 18 month range.
