More of the guitarist from the Delvon Lamar Trio (and the True Loves), Jimmy James:

I really like his soloing on this cover:

What he says about his instrument inspiring him reminded me of some things you said when you got your 335, @jack walsh13

Excellent point Res. Ya know, when I played that 335 at Guitar Center for the 1st time it just rang out different. It was a different feel from my Strat. And I LOVE MY STRAT. I REALLY DO. But it was at that moment I felt as though I was graduating in my quest to become a muscian if that makes any sense. I can tell the feel, sound and distinction between the two. Just by playing, paying attention to how I turned down and raised the pick ups, and just listening. Even when playing the same notes. They rang out brighter and........well, I don't wanna say crisper on the 335 than the strat cause I don't think that's the right word to describe it. Had a bit of a twitch to it if you get me. It was just different. I can also tell right away why B.B. chose that one. Bending the strings on that thing doing vibrato is so much better. I'm on vacation from my job for 3 weeks as I get my walkin showers upstairs completed......then my basement with my studio. Gonna play my ass off these three weeks man. I'm super excited!!!! I'LL NEED LOTS OF TIPS AND HELP, SUGGESTIONS FOR RECORDING TOO.

335 in neck pickup mode has that nice fully-rounded hollowbody sound with prominent low and low mids, coupled with nice cutting highs. No mud. A beautiful instrument.

Did you check out Jimmy James' TONE on that Sears Silvertone guitar in the last vid I sent you of him? :eek2: He was playing into the amp with nothing but just a touch of amp reverb.:itsawrap:

I played brass instruments growing up, but always wanted to play guitar just so I could play this... My favorite video game of all time is MegaMan 2... I remember when this video had less than 500 views

Breh I'm old or something. Don't remember this. But it sounds like a cool guitar song. Fairly low difficulty to play too with the exception of a few seconds of shredding near the end. You gonna learn it?

That 2nd clip is HARD as fuck
Ain't it tho?
HUGE fan of his! He was supposed to play with Prince before Prince died.
 I can't believe I'm just now learning of him. Been doing a deep dive this past week into his work. Yeah man, he did a number of gigs with Prince at Paisley Park. I've so far seen video of him playing with Cory Henry, Eric Gales, Medeski and Martin (at the Newport Jazz Festival) and George Clinton & the P-Funk All Stars.

I'm going to get a saxophone in another year or so. Though I know a Sax is considered a woodwind instrument.

Aha, nah I just fell in love with the game cause it was the first real game I beat on my own... Joint came out in 88, but we didn't get a Nintendo until like 91/92... But yeah I plan to get a guitar by the end of the year, told my lady I want one for Christmas... My dexterity is pretty good and I can already read music so I'm optimistic my learning curve won't be that difficult of a challenge, but if it is oh well - I'll manage...

Man that's dope, I can appreciate that... If you know you're gonna do it fa sho... I'd gon head and buy a mouthpiece and reed, that way you can develop your embouchure beforehand... Shit will sound like a sick duck, but by the time you get the sax, you'll be ready to go...

Res, I decided to go with the Mac studio monitor 24" and Mac Mini desktop 8GB Memory 256GB SSD for my studio. I can easily upgrade the memory with additional storage so that's not an issue. For my Yamaha Clavinova CVP-701 I'll use an Ipad Pro. I know I can use cheaper options for a studio computer but you know me. I still need to check out that Roland drum machine to see if those smaller pads will bother my huge hands. I'll need help with programs for recording once I get everything.

You play the keys as well? That's dope... Bruh if you can get that mini with 16g of memory instead you'll be straight with that 256 SSD (especially since that's easily upgradeable with an external)... I'm sure he can chime in with a better recommendation, but for recording look into a Focusrite Audio Interface and Adobe Audition...

Great! Get your Mac on, man!

@LongLocs85 said something similar to what I was gonna say regarding Mac Mini. The memory can't be upgraded. I have the 16 GB 512 GB M1 Mac Mini and love it. I got it after killing my second MacBook Pro. It's more than enough for what you want to do.

Even so, If you want one, I'd recommend you wait a couple of weeks on that purchase. WWDC is coming on September 6th and they are expected to make an announcement on new Mac Minis and also on new iPad Pros. See what they have coming up.

The Studio monitor is a waste of money to me. If you're doing visual editing, that's another thing.

Which monitor would you recommend? So stick with the Mac Mini 16GB instead of the Studio M1 Max?

Yeah bruh that's hard, grew up around and played music so I definitely understand the connection... That 32 Ram is incredibly powerful, but real talk for what you want to do even beyond that the 16 is more than enough... Now if you ramp up and get your Timberland or Quincy Jones on, then a 32 is worth it...

Apple can be foolie in how they market their products... The M2 chips in my opinion are unnecessary, being that the M1s are extremely efficient... I was waiting on the Mac mini to put the M2 as well, but the more research I did about the M1 and the reviews that the M2 got in that latest release, I'm more than good with the M1... Especially on my iPad... Being able to run adobe products on that joint is impressive

Good points. I may stick with the 16GB. But we're talkin about only a $700 difference soooooooooo...........:puzzled:.......................I just may go wit the 32G because of that
