I think those are 9's he's playing on. Bend very easily. I play with 11's. A tad bit harder to bend but I like thicker strings.

Yeah. I tried that 1 finger style and it is hard as fuck!!! Like you said, whatever works. That's why I love playing instruments. There are no rules.
