Even before, people could have guns in their home, place or work/business, or vehicle without any license or permit.

Nothing scares wypipo people more than an armed black man. 90% of my clients are white and when I go to their houses they have enough guns for a small street gang. I've been in Georgia since 2006. I've always legally owned a firearm in the crib, my shop and my garage @ home. I also legally carry a firearm in my car but never felt a need to conceal carry even though I legally can. Before this new law, if I was in a sketchy part of town I would open carry once I stepped out the car to pump gas or change a flat tire. Even now I do not conceal carry, I just avoid sketchy places like the Pharr Road area with all the new restaurant/lounges. Dusty criminals are gonna carry regardless what laws are enacted. Dusty criminals with felonies were not going to the local court houses and applying for $200 permits to conceal carry. The new law makes it easier for law abiding citizens to conceal carry without the state government being all up in your business. The Conceal Carry Permit was issued to anyone without any training. You got your CCW based only on the fact that you do not have any felonies or domestic violence incidents on your record.
You still have to pass a Federal Background check to buy a gun. Now if there was no background check to buy a gun you definitely have a point.

Coweta County, Ga — A Greenville man was arrested Monday police say he stole a sports car mid-test drive.
Police said, Nickloas Jermaine Render Jr., 19, took a yellow 2015 Corvette on a test drive at ALM Newman Used Car dealership in Coweta County.
The employee riding along with Render, Robert Edens, told police he was doing a routine test drive when Render told him he wanted to “feel what riding in the passenger seat was like.”
Edens got out of the car to switch places, but as soon exited the vehicle, Render sped off, police said.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Department eventually saw the vehicle on the highway and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The car still had the ALM tag on it.
Police say Render initially refused to exit the car until the sheriff finally got him to exit the vehicle.
Render faces three charges. One for auto theft, another for obstruction of an officer and another for simple assault, according to police.
