Atlanta on fire!

According to the APD:
  • Statistics released by the Atlanta Police Department show homicides are up 43% compared to the same time period in 2021
  • Rapes are also up 236%, burglaries are up 18% and shoplifting cases are up 4%
To be clear what’s the population of Atlanta? I’m in Indianapolis and a year with 150 homicides is a good year… we hit 200+ For consecutive years and on track now for it.
We have just under 1m people

I think it’s a case of everyone just flocking into the city and bad policing. I remember a time when people from the outskirts would stay in their neighborhoods and not come into Metro Atlanta. I remember when you could walk to Bennet Street and not have to worry about a shootout or getting robbed. This was before Frank Ski’s restaurant. Justin’s was very quiet, I used to live across the street and never had incidents or Police racing up and down Peachtree like this.

Unfortunately the Riff Raffs have taken over and you have to police them accordingly. I think the Keisha dropped the ball and didn’t prepare for Atlanta after the pandemic. She never addressed the water boys correctly, shootings at Lenox mall, Police presence at the Wendy’s that burned down. She let it all get away and this is where we at.

“I’m here to speak to the ridiculous nature of crime,” he said. “We need individuals to talk out their disputes, walk away and do not pick up guns. We can take down drug operations that breed violent crime, we can dismantle gang organizations that breed violent crime, we can stop robbery crews that breed violent crime, we cannot stop someone who is mad because there is too much mayonnaise on their sandwich.”

The Rifraff has definitely taken over. They feel empowered to do whatever they want whenever they want. If you confront them they will shoot you. That's living under a shield of terror.

Sad thing is other than the chance of a random bullet, whites are still much safer in the city than Black folk as long as they don't confront criminals.

Shit like this is why tough on crime Republicans have a ready made platform. Only thing missing is if a victim had been a white girl but at that Subway no question they were Black employees. I live less than a mile away and know and avoid the station. It's a stone's throw from Mercedes Benz Stadium by the way.

Yeah next time I hit the city will be for my graduation. I plan to go to the Rtiz Carlton and have a drink, sit in the lounge and think about my journey since I used to work there.

That's it for my nightlife, 4 or 5 star places only, shit happens there too from time to time but life's all about mitigating risks.

The problem is people want to have their cake and eat it too when it comes to policing. I wouldn't want to be a mayor of a liberal city with high rates of shootings, murders, and robberies.

Mayors are damned if they do something and damn if they don't
do something. The real problem is the lack of community involvement in keeping one's neighborhood clean and safe.
Nobody wants to snitch and everybody wants to mind their businesses. Then when the cops come in to clean up everybody is crying about how harsh the police are.

Back in the 80's people cried for the police and politicians to do something. Thus the Crime Bill was born.

These pieces of garbage ruin opportunity and choices for the rest of the community. That is whybthe community should make ever effort to run these folks out and/or "snitch".

Yo the white people is not safe especially in Buckhead they been hitting them up pretty good lately I blame most of this bullshit on the governor he basically letting anybody with a gun walk around with no problem. Atlanta is a hue city is not going to be quiet anytime soon. Also there’s some Riff Raff going on in the white areas to just not talking about it

I said this along time ago they have too many CAC’s in the Atlanta police department that is what I think causes some of the problem. Also the gentrification bullshit Is not going as planned the white developers need to just abandon ship a gift places to Black people

This shit is fucking crazy. I saw this post earlier and called my boy who is one of the owners at APT. 4B. I just checked to see if he was ok and didn't get into details about the shooting since I knew he had a bunch of calls coming through. Didn't know Shaka was the person who got shot. @TooTrilla Apt4B is in the cut I wouldn't even think to take the blicka out the car if I went over there. That ain't Peter Street or Edgewood.

@easy_b I lived in NY when Guilliani became mayor and was credited for the decrease in crime that started under black mayor David Dinkins. Unfortunately I passed by the Wendy's the week before that lil girl got shot. There was zero police presence at that site and those armed lil fucks were walking around there without any type of trigger finger discipline. The lil girl was all on Keisha, The A was on fire and she failed to enact community based policing before shit hit the fan. I also blame the mother for taking the lil child on a late night liquor run in that area.

No you have to blame the governor also because he’s letting everybody walk around with guns without no paperwork. Even doing the Covid lockdown Keisha was fighting with the damn governor
