I would push for harsher punishment but it wouldn't be enforced fairly.

Do we need even MORE surveillance? Armed night security mandatory at communal dwellings?

Hell, victims aren't chosen by these criminals fairly. Them folks knocked out 100 windows in cars a few days ago... throw the book at them when they get caught.

My point is we need more preventative measures than punitive.

I'd rather not have my car broken into at all than the criminal be caught after doing so.

Catching the criminal still leaves me with the cost of cleanup, insurance deductible, rate going up, etc.

Let's focus on stopping the action from happening in the first place.

It's too easy of a crime to commit and get away with. I'm not sure what prevention measures can be taken to stop those who are already in the mindset to commit these types of crimes.

I gave two proposals. You might not have seen them.

1. More open surveillance. You've seen the blue strobe lights on cameras letting everyone know there's surveillance cameras in the area. May dissuade some from doing the crime in that area.

2. Armed security mandatory at communal dwellings. Nothing is gonna 100 percent prevent crime but armed security will damn sure deter some of it. We have it at my condo and the only big car break in incident was an inside job.

My bad I didn't see those at first. Those are great proposals. I don't know why businesses, garages and dwellings tend to cheap out on security.

In all seriousness, what are we talking, maybe 5 deaths per year in Lake Lanier, out of what close to a million visitors per year? I'll bet i-20 and 285 has worse figures, but yall aint scared of that.

That number is much higher than that unofficially. Officially that lake has a body count of 700 since it opened unofficially it is well over 1000.

They say 7-11 million people per year visit there, say the worst year they had was 20 deaths. The math, for me, is in favor of the people. Those odds change once you start factoring in alcohol, watercraft speed, etc...

Here’s the thing a lot of the deaths are not caused by the fact is you just stayed? I mean the deal from yesterday was weird because he got electrocuted with no thunderstorm in the area. Hell sometimes your boat just blow up on that lake

I need to read the article again, but it seems like he got electrocuted via the power from whatever dock he was near, which I have heard of that happening. The power source electrified the water surrounding the dock.

Yeah, but that shit still tell you that lake is nothing to be fucked with stay away from Lake linear if you want to live. Whatever you think wouldn’t happen to you can happen at that lake. That lake is Hunted and it is riddled with final destination scenarios.

armed security agency to hire not cheap and also the potential robbers will just go do crime to another local area. it that was Dhubai extreme punishment would have deter some of these criminals but on the flip side, corporate criminals, crooked politicians would need that same treatment though....

But that's the point...make the criminals go somewhere else. Go rob and steal in Buckhead, I don't care, I don't live there. Just like they don't care about crime in my neighborhood. Just get them away from me and mine.

Tough on crime strategy will never be applied equally and even if it were it would involve time behind bars, not chopping of limbs for stealing and all that.

I guess we could go back to public hangings or the guillotine, seeing the gallows up ose and personal might dissuade some crime!
