Folks act like they aren’t looking to ban is from Buckhead and other places. When I say we do it to ourselves heads wanna argue semantics. It’s like this everywhere across America. I was at thar Fogo De Chao weeks before that shooting and my lady used to shop at that Saphora and some soap shop in the mall. We got to Cumberland now and that isn’t much better anymore. I understand the racism brewing in Atlanta.

I'd never say I understand the racism in Atlanta. Don't care how bad Black crime gets. It's not an excuse to prejudge.

I just was at Cumberland a few hours ago. But I only go up there for Costco. I don't go to any malls, I aged out of that shit mentally long ago.

The issue is you can't get into a confrontation with anyone cause you risk getting "popped". Bad behavior goes unchecked and people never are shamed into better behavior. And...well, here we are.

You understand it and you know why it is. Altanta was a black city and that carried weight for decades. Each generation got worse, created more headaches and took it for granted. Everywhere I have lived in America (5 places) has places I refuse to or no longer go to and ALL of it is because of NINJAS accept for L.A. All my favorite food spots and hangout spots have fights, gun shots or murdered and it’s ALL ninjas. Even the belt line area was becoming a favorite—now ninjas fucking that up too. You don’t want to say you understand the racism in atlanta because it feels like you’re condoning it, but deep down you understand.

You're conflating your life experiences with others. I said I don't understand. I don't and I never want to.

I "understand" it from a historical perspective and the reasons behind it but that's not how you're using the term understand.

I'm from a small town/city in the South. I grew up under racism. I've seen KKK parades in Sidney Park. I've seen racist flyers in our mailbox and cross burnings on our yard. Those textbook experiences did not die out in the 60s...I grew up in the 80s.

Whatever crime someone may have experienced gave those people no right to judge me, a good student and leader in my school and community. I

I'm really sorry that you have had negative experiences at the hands of Black people. I have as well, in addition to whites, Asians, Indians, etc. I try not to hate/judge people, even whites, unless they give me a reason to. I'm not perfect with it but I wasn't brought up to reciprocate hate. That doesn't mean I wouldn't protect myself and mine.

Whatever people went through or saw on the news isn't justification to deny an applicant a job, house, education, medical care, or beat them half to death or worse. So no, I don't "understand" racist behavior.

You understand racism?

I've lived in Buckhead as well, Peachtree Battle Shopping Center area.

We're falling victim to the same line of thinking as whites, once we have made enough money to live amongst them.

I understand the noise that young party people bring at night over there (not entirely Black by the way). The looks you might get at that Publix or at Phipps are due to them equating you with them strictly on your race, dress, hair etc. You ok with that?

Oh Cumberland is fuckin terrible now. I lived in that area and watched that mall change. It went from aight to hood as fuck quickly. And honestly, half the people at Lenox aren't even there buying shit. It's just an "it" location in ATL. Hell I did it when I was younger too. Only difference was, I was armed but not looking to do anything crazy.

I go into Neimans and that's it. I don't go into any other stores. Maybe Apple and fendi but thats it. Cumberland is bullshit and lenox isn't that much better. But it's like that in every major city now. Shit they acting stupid in downtown chicago now :smh: this country is on some other shit. The politicians don't care enough and the corporations are sucking it dry! People are becoming more and more desperate. And mental health is showing more and rising fast! Move smartly family, move smartly....

Cumberland has had like 3 shootings in the past few years.

The shooting in the old Seras parking lot had me shook because I walked through that lot earlier that day to get back to work.

Atlanta is really competing with Chicago now with this one.

He should have known better. I'm sorry. Costco, Sam's or that gas station downtown that's only for law enforcement. Surely he can afford it. I don't get the poor planning that leads to needing gas in bad areas.

It happened to me once. I messed around on a trip back from Florida. I misjudged how far I could get, but I was on fumes by the time I made it to Atlanta. Never again

I just plan to drive from Costco to Costco since they are situated on the highway. Depending on where you are going it's an easy network.

Ijs, if they trying to ban you, let them. Why you wanna be where you're not wanted?

Fuck Buckhead and everything in it. I prefer black-owned
Is crime worse now than 90s, or does it seem worse due to the advent of social media and having the News readily available in our hands?

It's hard to say, I was a kid in the 90's so some things I wasn't privy to, but I heard all kinda stories.

Also, Techwood and all the projects was still here before '96. Let's not even talk about before '94, shit was wild.

I think a lot of shit just wasn't reported in the 90's, so it was easier to get away with shit. Also, people are more respectful when they know shit can go left and there won't be anybody to help or witness.
Cameras give people confidence.

Life has no value to too many folk out here.

They don't even call it shooting they call it getting popped.

It's not real to them until it is. Nobody's telling them life is not a video game...no restart button.
Dude that threatened me literally said, "i'll pop yo bitch ass."

They think they're playing call of duty.

Dude was looking for an issue in my case.

Get shot by the cops or get shot by the robbers. One is no better or worse than the other...either way you're shot.

Next property will be out in the sticks. I need as much space away from neighbors as I can afford.
