This should be a summer Blockbuster movie. Releasing it in January means the studio has no confidence in the movie at all.

Well Michael Bay isn't directing it either.....so it probably doesn't have a transformer sized budget Bad Boys II had....so it probably won't have to make as much to be profitable. Black folks will still go see as well as those that appreciate 90s throwback R-Rated Buddy cop movies

I’m sorry but don’t compare Bad Boys to Hobbs and Shaw. That Bad Boys trailer, was better than the Hobbs and Shaw movie. H&S was awful.

It sounds like it is being released around King holiday weekend. There have been some successful releases around that time (Hidden Figures off the top of my head).

I think they wanted to give it some breathing room . A movie like that without a lot of competition, like spring and summer should allow it to do well.
