Not sure but it's going to be an actor-actor. Someone who's been in critically acclaimed projects, maybe won some awards, but isn't necessarily a household name, which is going to enrage some folks.

I think the "fan base" doesn't fully understand the cultural pressure of that role.

But I completely agree with your take

In a perfect world I still think it's Aldis

I said from jump Regé-Jean Page.

Been saying it for 3 years. Or however long it's been since they mentioned recasting.

And it's not exactly a recast as he would be his son. Or another tribe member.

Yo that's a great choice, don't know why I didn't think of it before.
Him, Damson and Aldis are the best choices imo
Heard he might be casted as James Bond as well..I could see that.

I liked it coz it was based off of this, in comic T'challa was in a coma and not completely dead, there were a few other details in this that the mcu hasn't setup yet

I vaguely remember reading that book & this one

Didn't Shuri have some kinda cosmic level powers or something?

And maybe they should have left hmm in coma in the MCU; and just brought him back in a different body or something like that; but either way I understand and see why they did it; mofos just need to chill and let it happen though...
I read that Coogs took it real hard and I think that he would have had a hard time directing someone else as Black Panther. Needed more time that they didn't have..

He's good on Cross

ehhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I only watched a little cause I've got too much other stuff to finish but in the 3 or 4 other things I've seen him in he's the same character - the angry guy who's kinda street. Every. Single. Time.

He was born to play it after Chadwick.

I wonder if the Hawkman thing and Cross could hamper that?

@raze

He is able to do the work both on and off screen

Aldis (and his brother) understand the responsibility.

They will honor Chadwick and make sure to represent socially. Aldis will do all the press local and international wonderfully. He will be a leader on set. Visit schools and hospitals and address any haters. He can do the voice and accent. He can do. the stunts. He can go toe to toe with ANY actor in the MCU.

Aldis as T'Challa facing off assist RDJ Doom?

Cmon now???!!!

But all that being said I understand casting a more unknown actor.

But I think Aldis can handle the pressure

Aldis certainly looks the part, but I don't think they're going to cast someone in their 30s. My guess is an actor who can play late teens and early 20s. T'Challa's son was always in the mix and not a knee-jerk reaction to Chadwick's passing. I suspect the original plan was to eventually age him up for a Young Avenger's project. They've already introduced Wanda and Vision's kids, Ironheart, Hawkeye, Cassie Lang (Stature), Ms. Marvel, America Chavez, Hulk's son, and Thor's daughter. Even Heimdall has a kid.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they're time-jumping 20-30 years into the future so we can have a fully-grown, seasoned T'Challa junior with Okoye, M'baku, and Nakia as senior citizens. And relying too much on magic, the multiverse, and time travel cheapens the stakes in your story.

I'm expecting a smaller time jump, around ten years. You're not asking a young actor to be Chadwick or T'Challa. Draw from their experiences but do your own thing. He's not going to be perfect. He's going to make mistakes. We get to watch him grow into a man. If handled correctly, he could be one of the most compelling characters in the MCU, especially for young Black males.

But most folks just want T'Challa 2.0, so I'm probably in the minority with this take.
