You think with some coaching, motivation and good direction Rocky really couldn't pull it off?

I think I mentioned something along those lines. If black Adam had made a billion?
Playing the bad guy would be the risk, but goes against his nature to be the good guy. Hobbs was essentially the Bad-Good guy in Fast and Furious universe. He made him the Good-Bad guy to fit his narrative. But this is why John Cena and Dave Bautista will be seen as better wrestlers turned actors.
This motherfcuker will play Darkseid as a superhero who just doesn't see eye to eye with Superman
I think I mentioned something along those lines.
But, yeah, if the film had been fire, The Rock could've told all the haters to kick rocks and gargle his stones. In fact, like you said, you wouldn't have heard from them.
He probably would've had Gunn's job or at least his ear since this would've shown he knows what the hell he's talking about.
But the film wasn't fire. It was a dumpster fire. And The Rock has made enemies not only here but in previous films as was mentioned earlier.
Now I'm not down with the pile on but they were waiting for him to be caught lacking to roast his ass for his past misdeeds.
It'll die down soon enough bro. The Rock can weather this. BTW, fuck Levi off GP. Don't like anything about him TBH.
^^^^
This is going to be a serious hurdle in his career. He needs to be able to accept a role as a bad guy. He needs to understand it will be a career defined opportunity.
Arnold was the Terminator.
Killmonger and Thanos actually made the audience sympathetic to their causes (in some degree)
The funny thing is Arnold is probably the star that's most similar to The Rock. The Rock prototype if you will.^^^^

I keep trying to DEFEND that movie.
Black Adam was not the WORSE
But for some reason it FELT like it was.
Can we at least TRY to name 5 good things in that movie?
Well, I mean, um, Pierce Brosnan was in it... I guess that counts as a good thing. I'd like to see more Dr. Fate.I keep trying to DEFEND that movie.

...shessh...They didn't kill off the black dude...even though he kept getting his ass whooped in ever fight.
....OH!! You want us to ALL name 5 things?!?!? I don't know man...My dad liked it? It is really hard and I am a fanboy so maybe I shouldn't do this, cause I might get an aneurism.

I think you should just go there and get it off your chest. You're better versed in the Justice Society and DC in general than I am so I want to hear it.AND THEN THEY KILLED OFF A AGENT OF ORDER!?!?!?! Like the ramifications that should have resulted in with the balance of Chaos and Order now tipped in....You know what I said I was gonna NOT do this.
Also my dad is a huge Remington Steele fan and that was why he liked it.

That's actually a good list. Really good. Almost as if you had it already waiting on deck.1. Doctor Fate but he dead so....
2. Hawkman, was great. I could see a whole movie of him his back story. I liked the effects his costumes wonderful actor.
3. Ok ummm The Rock looked fantastic he truly embodiment of the character.
4. See that wasn't so hard! Ok ok ok the villain sucked, comic relief sucked, the kid was mediocre, the MOM WAS GOOD! And while the story was weak I liked the idea of an entire nation loyal to one hero. Wait a minute that's Black Panther. Ok how about him being a god? That's BP too. Ok I liked the flashbacks and the cgi little Rock!
5. Fight scenes were good! See there you go. 5 great things about Black Adam! Someone send this to the Hollywood Reporter!
That's the mark of a good actor! To make you empathetic to their cause. I know I keep going to this well, but look at Dave Bautista! Homie has played a range of different characters. The motherfcuker ain't Daniel Day Lewis but for who he is and how late he got into acting he's knocked it out of the park. John Cena (who I loathed with his culture vulture gimmick) but Peacemaker (a white supremacists anti-hero) the role he had in Trainwreck. He was always pushed to make money off of little white kids...those weren't roles for kids!
That's actually a good list. Really good. Almost as if you had it already waiting on deck.
You know I would've liked it a bit more if they put more work in the setting. I know it was supposed to be Middle Eastern but it was hard on the eyes. No variety just all biege.
Your dad is a gentleman and a scholar
Salute
I am curious what has stopped The Rock from going the Bautista route. Is it just a difference of philosophy?
From Blade Runner 2049 to Dune, I've been impressed with Bautista's work. Rock has nothing close to this.
What's Rock's philosophy after 20 years? Paying the bills?Money and power Dave isn't trying to set himself up as head of nothing!

The funny thing is Arnold is probably the star that's most similar to The Rock. The Rock prototype if you will.
Pretty much every other action star, from Bruce Willis to Sly to Jason Statham, lacked that physical dominance that Arnold and now Dwayne have. The rest were kinda underdogs while Arnold and Dwayne looked superior to whomever they were facing.
The difference is Rock never had that career-defining role. Its just been a string of forgettable roles. Meanwhile, Arnold is still eating off of Terminator.
Rock probably needs to cut the roids and just focus on his acting. Try to get more cerebral and less physical roles.

Honestly, the dude really hasn't grown in his craft since Walking Tall, he's just gotten older.
Even his straight to video joints he does a pretty good job! I remember watching My Spy thinking I was gonna shyt all over it and by the end I was sitting on the edge of my seat weeping that...I won't spoil it, but...FCUK I am getting emotional typing this shyt out just thinking about it...I...I can't...I gotta watch it again!
Is that the one with the funny looking little girl? It was that good??? Wow.Even his straight to video joints he does a pretty good job! Yup he is box office viagra but as with anything? You can grow immune. You need stronger dose.
The Rock needs to get better product

You need to be his life coach/career adviser fam. He needs to grow. He's getting too old to be doing the same shit. The Rock from day one said that is his idol and blueprint
And Arnold gave him the blessing.
And you SAW the progression action, family friendly... and then he just took off.
Cause unlike Arnold? Rocky literally came into the game with millions of WWE loyal fans. It was like a record company signing one of these internet tiktok rappers with these huge fan bases. The Rock had the cheat code....
And he was ACTUALLY TALENTED.
The Rock SHOULD have been Conan. He should have had a predator type movie. He should have had a sci fi flick. He had one too many "regular" action flicks they made money and created his own genre of Rock movies so it was smart but still.

What do they say about people who grew up without money? They always feel like it's gonna run out
^^^^:
And they right
If yall knew just how difficult he had it growing up it makes sense
That's crazy since he came from a wrestling family on both sides. You'd think he'd have grown up with some money at least.^^^^:

Thanks for the history of it all fam.Wrestlers started making good money like 30 years ago! That's why you see all these older wrestlers broke doing campaigns for medical bills or funerals. You would have a top guy who made good money, but then the lesser cats were living paycheck to paycheck and don't be a person of color cause they're gonna fcuk you over. Most companies make them pay for their own travel accommodations. They don't have health insurance. No kind of retirement plan. Self medicate for injuries that they might get. Sometimes make, design and pay for their own ring attire. Those gowns that Ric Flair used to wear came out of his pocket and they had nobody telling them to claim that shyt during tax time. Going from town to town, getting drunk, partying, getting their dycks wet by local talent plus maybe having a family that you had to send money too.
