Sports commentary as an entertainment product has become more and more degraded as folks spend hours in front of their phones and less time in front of a TV. Like others, I’ll watch a game. IDGAF about the pre or post commentary or the 50 shows about the game. I’ve got other shit to do. And young folks are trying to make a living or do Tik Tok’s or whatever. ESPN anchors used to be household names. I couldn’t tell you who does what at what time now, nor do I care.

ESPN thinks everyone cares about Yankees/Red Sox, Patriots vs whoever (for years), Giants vs whoever, now it’ll be J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets since Rodgers is in NY, they’re whole brand is stale and outdated. Bo Jones was one of the few non robotic personalities they had who could excel wearing any number of hats. Yet they let him walk but get pigeonholed by a worthless personality (and person) like Sage Steele who isn’t 1/4th of anything regarding sports media above the janitor (which is honestly, an insult to the janitor).

I think Michael Smith and Jemele’s run was going to end even before Jemele said what she said about Trump. ESPN viewers, the east coast “liberals” who love their NY/Boston/Philly coverage are just like the MAGA viewers, they all really don’t like black folks, they’ll tolerate but go outside the box and it’s curtains for you. Bo stayed outside the box and for this, he too is now gone. I’m glad folks got their money at least and look forward to Bo’s reemergence.

Ah, so his comments about Sanders’ hat and glasses are even more out of pocket, as one of the first things you’re taught about being black is, under no circumstances, do you criticize another black person to or around white people. Can’t rock with a cat like this who shows you his hand and what he’s playing for. :smh:
