Those were the first organizations that I could think of that had pride in the membership and their organization.

If I knew Oprah’s book club repped hard I would’ve mentioned them.

Boy scouts, Girl scouts, whatever. Don’t wear their vest with all kinds of patches if you were never a member and haven’t done shit.

It’s really that simple. And you can get mad if people ask you about it or ask you not to wear it.
My guy...

Lil Billy and nem ain't rolling up on nobody banging on a mufucca over a army green sash...

With the military I get it... seeing somebody fronting in a uniform or with accolades pinned to them that they didn't earn when it's people that did earn them but also lost a limb, mobility, a friend, etc in the process... you deserved to get duffed out for that...

But behind fraternity colors? Buddy mentioned the work they put in and that's all well and fine, but I don't need colors or a patch or any kind of affiliation to better my community or those less fortunate.

These two things aren't the same IMO....

I didn’t say the organizations garnered the same level of respect, I simply stated an organization.

I understand that this thread is about a frat, but I’m speaking on any organization that a person belongs too in general.

And no if you’re not a part of that frat, you shouldn’t be wearing their logos. It’s just the way that it is.

Don’t walk around with a yellow NFL hall of fame jacket if you’re not in the hall of fame.

The foundation of America is murder, robbery, and stealing. And it is not like well forget the past the shit is still going on. The world's best kept secret is that our health is our only real wealth. Anything else is borrowed including our lives. It is about controlling you and any thing you can get from their controlling you. It is like borrowed energy and teaching you to never be in control of your self. All the money coming back to them and their rule for generations is proof of that. And just because other white people live by it does not mean it is the only way.
Truth

W E B DuBois said it best:

"Our college man today is, on the average, a man untouched by real culture. He deliberately surrenders to selfish and even silly ideals, swarming into semiprofessional athletics and Greek letter societies, and affecting to despise scholarship and the hard grind of study and research. The greatest meetings of the Negro college year like those of the white college year have become vulgar exhibitions of liquor, extravagance, and fur coats. We have in our colleges a growing mass of stupidity and indifference.’"

Bro again, you're comparing apples to oranges.

Broken bones, lifelong aches and pains, concussions, even disability in some cases came with earning that yellow jacket.

THAT'S DIFFERENT.

You know, maybe it's my fault, because when I think of the military, police officers, gang members, etc... their colors... the work they put in earning those colors, maybe I'm wrong in comparing them to frats. To me there's no comparison...

You’re “Comparing”, I’m not. I simply stated a list of groups and organizations that people could belong to.

I also said street gangs, prison gangs and the police. Why are you so hung up on the military?

To break it down in terms that you’ll appreciate. No the military and frats are not the same.

Man fuck them emotional niggas

Fuck I care if someone rocks a usmc shirt

If you’re going to compare, compare correctly. Anyone can wear a USMC shirt, that doesn’t mean you were in the military.

But to wear a complete military uniform showing that you’re one of them, is different.

Also you shouldn't wear any gear displaying that you are a Veteran of a war if you haven't served. To me that is disrespectful .

A lot of people wear military uniforms that never served and some wear shirts with different branches on them. I don't see the big deal, I have to be missing something.

I also wear military jackets, pants and shirts. They’re the official gear but they don’t have military insignia on though. No labels, patches or anything.

As a matter of fact, I’m wearing a military jacket today.

If my jacket had my name, Branch and rank on it, it’d probably be an issue with military personnel.

And I’m also not in the military.

True, however, with the newer ones you can tell which branch they are without the patches or insignas.

Let me tell you all the story I heard about black Greeks

A buddy of mine went to go visit his cousin at name that University in the DMV. His cousin had to go to work and he was staying the weekend so, he woke up in the morning, couldn't find a shirt so he grabbed one of his cousin's and headed off to the store

And the store he saw a gentleman and the guy said, "Oh, bruh, when did you pledge?"

My boy said, "Nah, this is my cousin shirt. I couldn't find mine this morning so I just grab one of his"

"Oh, my man. You going to have to take that off."

"Ninja, get the fuck out of here get the fuck out of my face."

The gentleman calmly walked out of the store.

As my boy was leaving the store, a pickup truck rolled up with five big black brothers in purple, including the gentleman who said 'you going to have to take that shit off.'

He gave my boy the universal 'bring it here sign,' and my boys took the shirt off and walked back to his cousin's apartment heated, but bare-chested.

When his cousin got home, he barked, "These motherfuckers ran up on me, let's go get these muhfuckas man let's go set these motherfuckers right."

He proceeded to tell his cousin everything that went down, start to finish. His cousins response, "Hey man. You shouldn't have one shirt."

I get it. As a military man, Stolen valor is real. Anybody out here false flagging like they served but they didn't are getting checked. This is no different. You don't wear those letters, you earn those letters. If you didn't learn them, you don't wear them. It's a simple as that

Yea it’s understood but there’s a grey area with that...

What if he didn’t know what the shirt stood for?

My brother gave me a shirt load of army gear, I only wear the grey long sleeve shirt, I think it’s one of the better quality shirt and very durable. Few times I was asked which branch, i tell them I didn’t service my brotha did.

If that day every come, I’m politely tell them to get the fuck. “My brother deals with PDS and labeled 100% disable(4 ruptured disc) @ the young 33 and wanted me to have his gear. He realized he didnt want it because of the nightmare and pain from Iraq, now u fucking with me about a fuck shirt bye bihh!!!”

Brotha,

even your own org would look down on you for being grad chapter. You are a Kappa, and not a NUPE because you didn’t take those undergrad ass whippings (I hope you didn’t let them beat you as a grown man)

and I’m 99% sure you would be serving the community the same way with or without the gang colors.

google Guide Right and Kappa League
frats do a lot work in the community, fundraising, etc
I just pledged graduate chapter and I'm currently mentoring two young boys aged 6 and 8 that don't have fathers in the home
Of course many just want the colors for bitches and partying but a lot of bros put in work daily

these “black Greeks” are playing it wrong. I’d be selling ‘nalia to anyone that wants it. They may be able to make a quick bag selling to people like Boosie that never went to college, have no idea how those orgs get down, and decide to rock because the colors and logo is cool.

Am I the only one seeing Ads for Kappa shirts? That $17.95 one look fiyah.

Remember the story from last year about the 42 year old dude from NY who got hospitalized from trying to pledge Omega grad chapter, I think he sued the niggas that did it. Imagine being a grown mf man, allowing another grown mf man to whup your literal ass so bad, you gotta go to the hospital.

I remember a story of a woman who put on her father's fraternity t-shirt and was about to leave out her mother was deathly serious when she warned her not to wear the shirt even telling her "Take the shirt off or you might run into the wrong ones and you'll end up walking home with your titties out".

Real ghost mob affiliate..checking in.... sometimes it's a Time To kill....I wish any human on the planet would check me...for wearing any color..any motto..any thing..that I find..that I spent my money on...it's gonna be real problems...I live by that thang called Shoot First...all this shit is for squares...not no real nicca....I find the Frats' way of life...lame as fuck...and Gay...so I wouldn't be caught cutting the yard wearing no shit like that anyway...but if I did.. DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR..brah

@shaddyvillethug

I see your point too, I understand niggas love and respect their frat but to roll up and try to check a random nigga for wearing your color is just stupid and will cause somebody to die needlessly.

Active and former military have a point for checking people, plus they are trained to kill, some random frat boy is not.

Frats are lame ass fuck. Grown ass men calling themselves Greeks. White folks took over Greek culture around 300 BC. He can wear whatever the hell he wants.
This. I hate that frat shit. Ive seen grown niggas at parties fighting over it. Dumb muthafuckas really think they're a gang.
