Boosie BadAzz Tells Black Greeks To ‘Calm Down’ After Backlash Over Kappa Alpha Psi Shirt

I remember a story of a woman who put on her father's fraternity t-shirt and was about to leave out her mother was deathly serious when she warned her not to wear the shirt even telling her "Take the shirt off or you might run into the wrong ones and you'll end up walking home with your titties out".

I see your point too, I understand niggas love and respect their frat but to roll up and try to check a random nigga for wearing your color is just stupid and will cause somebody to die needlessly.

Active and former military have a point for checking people, plus they are trained to kill, some random frat boy is not.
One of the problems with faking military creds is you get actual real world benefits for being military and most people take you at your word. I can’t tell you the number I times I been at the cash register at some random store and they ask me if I’m military for an extra 10-15% off. (I run the Army Ten Miler every year and sometimes roll out with the race shirt). Of course I say hell no and forego the discount. I’m not sure they giving money off or free meals for being a shimmy boy.

Sometimes I can’t tell the difference between bloods/crips and black fraternities. They be doing that gang gang shit now. The problem I see with this is that they will eventually run into some G’s that’s really about that life and they don’t understand they’re a black fraternity, sort of what Bossie did. Then that can lead into some real problems. Folks on the outside don’t understand what they are they can only go on appearances.

I know how serious they take that shit. I’ve been told about how people have gotten beat up for claiming they’re in a frat they didn’t pledge for.

Brotha,

even your own org would look down on you for being grad chapter. You are a Kappa, and not a NUPE because you didn’t take those undergrad ass whippings (I hope you didn’t let them beat you as a grown man)

and I’m 99% sure you would be serving the community the same way with or without the gang colors.

At the end of the day, I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks about me.
The bros put in work in the community, point blank period. I've seen it with my own eyes. Both parents were in greek organizations also
You don't know what the fuck I am or not.
and no I never mentored anyone, or served the food to the homeless on Thanksgiving before Kappa

This. I hate that frat shit. Ive seen grown niggas at parties fighting over it. Dumb muthafuckas really think they're a gang.
True story: MANY years ago at Club 112, this Q named Ant was doing that step shit on the floor, and he was killing folks. Then the DJ put on "Treat 'Em Right"by The Chubbster and I straight mopped the floor with his ass doing THEIR shit! When they found out I wasn't a Q, they jumped him in the parking lot for being blown out by a non Q. The reason why they didn't come at me was, a. I had a gang of back-up, and b. some of them were Tony MF Rock fans, so they took it out on him.

Yea it’s understood but there’s a grey area with that...

What if he didn’t know what the shirt stood for?

My brother gave me a shirt load of army gear, I only wear the grey long sleeve shirt, I think it’s one of the better quality shirt and very durable. Few times I was asked which branch, i tell them I didn’t service my brotha did.

If that day every come, I’m politely tell them to get the fuck. “My brother deals with PDS and labeled 100% disable(4 ruptured disc) @ the young 33 and wanted me to have his gear. He realized he didnt want it because of the nightmare and pain from Iraq, now u fucking with me about a fuck shirt bye bihh!!!”
As a veteran, I feel for your brother, our brother, and wish him the best. War is a bitch. I've seen too many of my family suffer, had many conversations with many vets and she'd so many of my own years. I can only feel for them and their families

Dunno, but I remember a politician was getting ready to through up a “hook” because a frat was doing it with while taking a picture with him. He slapped his hand down on the sly. Lol. I guess it’s like throwing up gang signs and stackin signals.

I think in a 100 years bloods/crips/gd’s/etc will all be normalized. Bloods and Crips do stuff for the community too that’s not illegal. The give away turkeys and toys during the holidays too. Errybody want to belong to something I guess. Don’t want to go at it alone.

There’s a lot of ignorance in here but I’m a say my piece on it and be done.

First of all I am a member of a Fraternity, the oldest, the boldest and the coldest. The first black intercollegiate Greek lettered fraternity. Founded by 7 young black men in Ithaca who sought to better themselves and their community at the campus of Cornell University where they weren’t given the same opportunities and support as other white students. What they did and accomplished isn’t just some college bullshit, it’s Black History. “W.E.B. DuBois started the Niagara Movement, which led to the founding of the NAACP. Jewel Brother Eugene K. Jones helped found the National Urban League and served as its National Director for many years.” DuBois joined the Epsilon Chapter of my fraternity at the University of Michigan, most notable Dr Martin Luther King Jr did as well and many other notable figures.

I gives a fuck if you don’t like fraternities or colleges fraternities or not that’s your prerogative. But recognize what some of these organizations have done for black communities is restore a sense of pride and community where there wasn’t any and created a hub of power for others to draw hope from. So let’s not act like taking pride and defense in your organization is wrong. If you don’t feel that way about any of the organizations your apart of if your a part of any then... well at least you know where your heart at nigga.

Second, Greek lettered does not mean Greek culture and way of life. Most of y’all in here live Eurocentric lifestyles anyway, wear European garments, drive European cars and probably fucking European women and follow Eurocentric customs. So come down off that bullshit. Now I will say my frat and specific chapter does incorporate African line names mostly Nigerian or Ghanaian or Egyptian line names for new interest.

Cuz truthfully some of y’all up in here sound like you was on-line, but dropped or got rejection letters and fell by the wayside lol. Either cuz you didn’t have the GPA or couldn’t keep up with the rigorous discipline. Just go’n admit it.

Let me say I didn’t think frats was for me in the beginning shit looked fun on School Daze but I didnt think it was for me and I stayed away from it. It wasn’t until later after I returned to school I seen more what it was about and it happened to align with principles I shared and believed in. Once I did my research that made it easier for me to join.

Third, the reason Kappas and any Greek organization for that matter get tight about anyone non Greek repping their letters is easy. Your not gonna let anyone who didn’t earn the letters misrepresent an organization you stand for. Their is etiquette and standard that comes with those letters. Wearing those letters is supposed to mean you’re ready to do work and promote good will. Further, anyone misrepresenting that organization could make that organization legally liable if a certain individual does some out of character bullshit that makes the org look bad and members will act aggressively to mitigate that. Someone mentioned stolen valor and it’s the same concept. I see so many vets and they are very particular about dates and details about war because it was how they spotted the fakes who claimed to serve but got every patch insignia and stripe they didn’t earn. Vets damn near beat the hell outta guy. Same concept. Not saying it’s right but... misrepresenting.

As far as recouping Greek lettered paraphernalia from non Greeks there are several ways they could go about persuading an individual. I’ve seen Bros buy the shirt off a man’s back or exchange a shirt for shirt. Hard heads can get their shit snatched and don’t think cuz niggas in college you can’t get muscled. Some frats are full of gang members who sought to turn their lives around and use their energy for good. Many are still connected with their past lives and will not hesitate to use that resource if need be. Ultimately they are still men and anybody can get it. Idk what world y’all live in where you “Want it to be one way, but it’s the other way.” “If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch”

Hopefully what I’m saying here can convert some of you ungenerous personalities into individuals of great worth lol :D No you don’t have to be a part of a frat to do good in your community or work along side fraternity members to do good in your community. Anyone who is I applaud you but if you in here talking shit but ain’t doing nothing well... at least you know where your heart at nigga. :dunno:

This whole Boosie situation is hilarious and many Greeks in the D9 find it hilarious and some have ill feelings about it. Overall I think Boosie is well meaning he just didn’t know. Second where was the kappas at when Chris Brown was stealing they shimmy in music videos lol

I hear you, but Boosie can't say he ain't know this would offend the Kappas being from an HBCU town(Southern Univ. Baton Rogue) himself. He did that shit because he felt the Kappas were soft or at least the ones he saw around Baton Rogue whether they went to Southern or LSU. As an HBCU alumn myself I know how serious some knigrows take their letters. It is stupid to beef over a shirt but it is also important to not misrepresent an organization.

This. Greeks are known racists. Almost worst than Italians. No way I’m swearing allegiance to anything Greek. Bad enough every black rapper has Italian names: Gotti, etc. How about a frat or soro with a black theme? Oh, no, that wouldn’t be accepted. Tell an actual Greek you pledged Greek.
But the one fag who claimed it’s the same as stolen military valor need his bitch ass whupped! Bruh, it ain’t the same! Dudes running around pulling jokes and playing grab ass isn’t the same as deploying or serving! Ol pussy ass nigga!

We don't know that. And I'm sure that shit can be confusing. Depends on how many people has access to him, and knew at the time, or even noticed. By now , we know, they ended up getting.him together In a pretty civil way. Overall, I like how they handled it. I don't think it would've looked very good for a kappa , old or young, to just run up on Boozie like they're gang members. It ended up being one of his boys who just pulled him to the side and let him know. I really thought they wouldn't say shit, just because he has a bad rep, but they did, and he respected it.
