I understand

But the key here is the kid in your story was not POSING.

to humiliate another black man like that for what?

A supposed black fraternity with claims of decades of community service brotherhood etc

And you do that to a black kid?

They needed a truckfull to accomplish this?

I guarantee they wouldnt have done this to HELP a black person in need or lawd forbid check a white person for ANY REASON

and what EXACTLY did this act do to the young shirtless black kid?

Now if he grow up hating not just the frat?

But black men who look like him?

Again i have heard similar stories and almost got caught up once myself

But that is really f*cked up and NOTHING at all for them to be proud of.
Oh fuckin waaaah waaah.

Quit being a cry baby. If that kid don't recognize that some shit just ain't personal, then fuck that kid. He should take it as a challenge if he really wants to be a kappa. Til then , All he has to do is wash his fuckin shirts and have another choice on deck. That One ain't a choice lol.

I aint in no frat, but I recognize organizations, fraternity, and how ya have to have rules and standards for some shit. People around here talk about that kinda shit for the streets, which mostly gets you killed , but for organizations that can help build you up , in a learning institution, all of a sudden , we gotta baby these guys. No, let that young man learn a hard lesson. Nothing happened to him. And yes, it took a truck full, to show him he was dealing with something that can pull together an overwhelming force QUICK, and also enough to make him just give in, instead of fighting and getting hurt. He should wanna be with a group like that.

Sidebar

With all due respect, aint nobody affiliated with kappas even gonna look hard at boosie

ESPECIALLY in the south.
Welp.... You were wrong. They did. And he acknowledged it, gave em 6k, and is bringing them out to show him how to do it, WITHOUT him doing their sign. He didn't get all butthurt about it after he thought about it,and they're joining together. Respect.

On the military thing, I feel you.
Here's where I stand on this, I'm a vet, but I'd never wear an Airborne Ranger shirt, because I wasn't one. If I see a cat wearing a 4th Infantry Division or an Army Armor shirt, I'd ask him about it, and if he said something like a friend or relative gave it to him, or even if he said he bought it because he thought it looked cool, I ain't gonna trip. Now, if he lies and said he did that, and I quiz him and he fails that quiz, I'll give a shitty look, but I ain't gon' fight him or try to make him take it off. Again, that's just me.

Your first sentence is the bottom line and what many don’t seem to understand. They’re too busy thinking big about “I wish someone would step to me” to grasp that concept.

I’ve come to the conclusion that theses niggas are weird. They do and wear whatever they want. They’ll wear a rainbow flag shirt because they like the colors and get mad when everyone thinks they’re gay! :roflmao:

There’s a lot of ignorance in here but I’m a say my piece on it and be done.

First of all I am a member of a Fraternity, the oldest, the boldest and the coldest. The first black intercollegiate Greek lettered fraternity. Founded by 7 young black men in Ithaca who sought to better themselves and their community at the campus of Cornell University where they weren’t given the same opportunities and support as other white students. What they did and accomplished isn’t just some college bullshit, it’s Black History. “W.E.B. DuBois started the Niagara Movement, which led to the founding of the NAACP. Jewel Brother Eugene K. Jones helped found the National Urban League and served as its National Director for many years.” DuBois joined the Epsilon Chapter of my fraternity at the University of Michigan, most notable Dr Martin Luther King Jr did as well and many other notable figures.

I gives a fuck if you don’t like fraternities or colleges fraternities or not that’s your prerogative. But recognize what some of these organizations have done for black communities is restore a sense of pride and community where there wasn’t any and created a hub of power for others to draw hope from. So let’s not act like taking pride and defense in your organization is wrong. If you don’t feel that way about any of the organizations your apart of if your a part of any then... well at least you know where your heart at nigga.

Second, Greek lettered does not mean Greek culture and way of life. Most of y’all in here live Eurocentric lifestyles anyway, wear European garments, drive European cars and probably fucking European women and follow Eurocentric customs. So come down off that bullshit. Now I will say my frat and specific chapter does incorporate African line names mostly Nigerian or Ghanaian or Egyptian line names for new interest.

Cuz truthfully some of y’all up in here sound like you was on-line, but dropped or got rejection letters and fell by the wayside lol. Either cuz you didn’t have the GPA or couldn’t keep up with the rigorous discipline. Just go’n admit it.

Let me say I didn’t think frats was for me in the beginning shit looked fun on School Daze but I didnt think it was for me and I stayed away from it. It wasn’t until later after I returned to school I seen more what it was about and it happened to align with principles I shared and believed in. Once I did my research that made it easier for me to join.

Third, the reason Kappas and any Greek organization for that matter get tight about anyone non Greek repping their letters is easy. Your not gonna let anyone who didn’t earn the letters misrepresent an organization you stand for. Their is etiquette and standard that comes with those letters. Wearing those letters is supposed to mean you’re ready to do work and promote good will. Further, anyone misrepresenting that organization could make that organization legally liable if a certain individual does some out of character bullshit that makes the org look bad and members will act aggressively to mitigate that. Someone mentioned stolen valor and it’s the same concept. I see so many vets and they are very particular about dates and details about war because it was how they spotted the fakes who claimed to serve but got every patch insignia and stripe they didn’t earn. Vets damn near beat the hell outta guy. Same concept. Not saying it’s right but... misrepresenting.

As far as recouping Greek lettered paraphernalia from non Greeks there are several ways they could go about persuading an individual. I’ve seen Bros buy the shirt off a man’s back or exchange a shirt for shirt. Hard heads can get their shit snatched and don’t think cuz niggas in college you can’t get muscled. Some frats are full of gang members who sought to turn their lives around and use their energy for good. Many are still connected with their past lives and will not hesitate to use that resource if need be. Ultimately they are still men and anybody can get it. Idk what world y’all live in where you “Want it to be one way, but it’s the other way.” “If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch”

Hopefully what I’m saying here can convert some of you ungenerous personalities into individuals of great worth lol :D No you don’t have to be a part of a frat to do good in your community or work along side fraternity members to do good in your community. Anyone who is I applaud you but if you in here talking shit but ain’t doing nothing well... at least you know where your heart at nigga. :dunno:

This whole Boosie situation is hilarious and many Greeks in the D9 find it hilarious and some have ill feelings about it. Overall I think Boosie is well meaning he just didn’t know. Second where was the kappas at when Chris Brown was stealing they shimmy in music videos lol

FACTS, very well stated

I’m not in a frat, but if the Que’s never came took me on college tours to show me that it was COOL to go to college I would have been in the streets. I recognize the importance to the community.

This. Greeks are known racists. Almost worst than Italians. No way I’m swearing allegiance to anything Greek. Bad enough every black rapper has Italian names: Gotti, etc. How about a frat or soro with a black theme? Oh, no, that wouldn’t be accepted. Tell an actual Greek you pledged Greek.

Agree.

When Blacks started doing their own fraternities and sororities, you would think they would have made them based off of African tribes or something related to Africa.

I never understood why they did the “Greek” thing.

My whole thing is the approach that’s all. The way boosie said it makes me think like bruh nobody going to walk up to me in a threatening manner and think ima be cool with it. Now on the flip side if you come and have a civil conversation with me then that’s different being that I served in the military myself I get it.

Quick question though first of all if Boosie not lying and did get it from a store how do y’all prevent that? Personally I think Boosie lying I think someone give it to him and he don’t wanna get that person in trouble.

second question is how do you know if someone down or not? Do y’all question everyone y’all see out and about???

I'm an Army Vet. My oldest ordered a jacket that had a "Screamin Eagles" patch on it...it had a bunch of other patches too, but I told him that he needed to take that off because someone may step to him with questions. He didn't do it and I said.."Ok, but you've been warned" Whats funny is of all the stolen valor vids ive seen on Youtube, I've never seen anyone get into a fight over it.

Best vids on the net are from Don Shipley(former Seal) when he calls up guys and they start stuttering about when they were in the Seals..LMAO..

from my Frat Brother Chuck Hobbs:

Perspective from my Frat and Masonic Brother Brian C. Thomas:
#LilBoosieAndGreekLife
Yesterday and I’m sure for the next week or so, folks will be reposting all the videos and memes about Lil Boosie and the infamous KAPPA shirt at The Hawks game. Folks are talking bout what “should” have been done or what THEY would have done but 99% of y’all wouldn’t have done a damn thang in that particular setting. It’s about him being IGNORANT (not stupid) to the rules of engagement with Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Boosie’s Brother is the NUPES, so we went through the proper channels to get to him to INFORM his Brother. He didn’t intentionally disrespect THE NUPES (not giving him a pass) but even in his apology or a couple videos, he stated he didn’t know he couldn’t wear it. He thought he was showing LOVE to something he was familiar with and actually had RESPECT for.
I also learned yesterday through thousands of comments on IG and even on my own Facebook page, that there are people who just don’t understand why it was such a big ordeal. It’s just a shirt, right? WRONG! Well they sell it at the mall, so anyone could buy one? Kinda but wearing it is totally different. I could buy a REBEL flag shirt too and wear it but I would probably be approached too.
I equate it to ME putting on my Dad’s Marine Corps uniform and going to the store. I’m gonna get TRIED and those that actually went through TRAINING to earn the right to wear the uniform gone come for my HEAD. I might catch some hands or even be “asked” to take it off.
I also realized too that there are a lot of folks that HATE the NUPES and Greeks period. I was amazed at the vitriol spit towards US. Then I realized that folks just don’t know, so I couldn’t be mad or take it personal. Since BOOSIE qualifies as a “REAL OR STREET NIGGA”, folks were saying “I bet nobody ain’t gone run up on him”. Damn, so I got to fight him when I understand that he might just not know. Communication goes a long way in this world but folks always want to prove they are HARD but wouldn’t bust a grape in a fruit fight.
I never really wanted to explain this but it kinda bothered me. Me and my LBs EARNED the right to wear our letters, brands, tattoos, shoot the YO, etc. There is a lesson in this situation and we can hopefully move on in the next few days.
