I understand cats are going “Conspiracy” cuz this happened in Washington DC and the Orange Moron is in office.

But I’m suspecting this was all pure negligence and ignorance.

I would not be surprised if one or more pilots and air traffic control personnel were Fucking around on their cellphones and not paying attention.

We have all driven in our cars and looked over at other cars and watch people Fuckin ‘ around on their phones and not focusing on driving.

It’s so common nowadays it doesn’t phase us.

When the NTSB figures out what happened and determine it was negligent behavior. This incident is going to force the FAA to to issue a mandate for cameras in the cockpits of all aircraft. Commercial and military.

Pilot Unions have been fighting against it. Cameras are currently being installed in Commercial Motor Vehicles by companies. ( My company has them installed). Taxi Cab companies are installing them and Freight Train companies are installing them in locomotives. There is no Federal mandate, they are doing it on their own.

We will wait and see….

I wouldn't go all the way to common but if you die in a plane, the most likely way is on takeoff or landing. And the most likely way to buy it on takeoff/landing is a collision.
Yea common wasn’t probably the correct wording but having a few friends to go out that way, made me think this wasn’t a freak accident

Even tho it may seem for many

I'm not trying to go conspiracy here, but she MIGHThave a point, although her timing and delivery are raggedy. When this shit happens, two planes were in a place where only one should have been. That happens when pilots are inattentive, or when controllers fuck up. If freezing funding had an impact on controller operations, it would be one of those unintended consequences of some stupid Trump shit. She just suggested that someone look, although she was an asshole about her timing and delivery. When there is a collision in a positive control area at an airport ( that means that every instruction you get has to be read back to the controller to prevent fuckups like this) the first place I would look is at the controllers.

Regret Colin Powell.

Pilots will strike

U can’t fly international without 25 years experience

Good luck replacing that in a week or 2

Pilots rule over all, because they fly doctors and other people. No pilot means u going nowhere.

I’m with the pilots on this one.

I just saw a fireball': Air traffic control audio captures crash's aftermath

Air traffic control towers at Reagan Airport captured audio of the immediate aftermath of the crash.
In the recording, someone — presumably a pilot — asks the air traffic controllers, "Tower, did you see that?” A controller responds, “Yep, we saw it."
That same controller proceeds to tell aircraft in the area to hold their positions.
The controller details what they saw: “It was probably out in the middle of the river. Um, I just saw a fireball and then it was just gone. I haven’t seen anything since they hit the river. But It was a CR-J and a helicopter that hit, I would say a half mile of the approach."
The airplane involved in the crash is a Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet.

Almost immediately, the controllers close the airfield, shutting down all runways and stopping landings and any movements.
Within minutes, the controllers begin redirecting other aircraft in the region.
“I need you to land immediately," one controller demands. “Can you go to Dulles for a few minutes?” Another aircraft is asked to go to Baltimore.
The controllers also ask other aircraft for help with the search and rescue.
“Flight deck, do you have any type of search light or anything on board that would help shed some light?” one controller asks.
A little more than ten minutes after the crash, a controller asks a pilot on the ground if he wants to return to the gate.
“I don’t know if we’re going to be able to resume operations in the near future,” he says. A minute later, he sends the pilot back to the gate, saying, “They’re going to close the airport.”

CNN is reporting that officials are not claiming to have found any survivors.

More than likely, all of them are gone unfortunately.

They'd have to survive the initial crash which resulted in a massive fireball, then they'd have to survive impacting the water at high speed, then they'd have to survive freezing water at night with no way of being able to tell which way is up....

FLIGHTS SHOULD BE SUPERVISED BY THE BEST EMPLOYEES: President Donald J. Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum terminating a Biden Administration Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) hiring policy that prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) over safety and efficiency.

  • This Presidential Memorandum orders the Secretary of Transportation and FAA Administrator to immediately stop Biden DEI hiring programs and return to non-discriminatory, merit-based hiring.
  • It also requires the FAA Administrator to review the past performance and performance standards of all FAA employees in critical safety positions and make clear that any individual who fails to demonstrate adequate capability is replaced by someone who will ensure Americans’ flight safety and efficiency.
MILLIONS OF AMERICANS RELY ON SAFE, TIMELY AIR TRAVEL EVERY DAY: Safety and competence should be the only job criteria for FAA employees, yet the Biden Administration violated the public trust—as well as the law—by prioritizing illegal DEI hiring.

  • Every day, more than 45,000 flights and 2.9 million airline passengers traveling for work or fun or to visit friends and family entrust their lives to the FAA.
  • Almost unbelievably, as a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative, the Biden FAA specifically recruited and hired individuals with “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric issues, and complete paralysis over other individuals who sought to work for the FAA.
  • President Trump is immediately terminating this illegal and dangerous program and requiring that all FAA hiring be based solely on ensuring the safety of airline passengers and overall job excellence.
    • On January 11, 2023, two weeks after a major holiday airline crisis, an FAA system outage caused by employees missteps grounded all flights for the first time since 9/11, an illustration of the importance of FAA competence.
FULFILLING PROMISE TO END ILLEGAL DISCRIMINATION AND BRING BACK COMMON SENSE: This Presidential Memorandum builds on President Trump’s day-one Executive Order ending the Biden Administration’s illegal and immoral DEI discrimination programs.

  • In his inaugural address, President Trump promised: ““We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based.”
President Trump stated in his January 20, 2025 Executive Order on Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing: “Americans deserve a government committed to serving every person with equal dignity and respect, and to expending precious taxpayer resources only on making America great.”
