The sad thing about it is that the kid probably walks away with 25 or 30 grand, and the old head has lost his job in the transportation industry. It’s going to be very difficult for him to find another job at his age making decent money.
If i was there and the police ask me what happened. I'll be like the bus driver ain't do nothing.
He might be able to spend it that he has PTSD and the job didn't protect him. Very similar to a situation where a woman was attacked at McDonald's by a gay customer who reached across the counter and grabbed her color. I don't know if that woman used this same defense, but I sure as hell would.

Agreed. A lot of times that old man strength comes with a side of rage that life has bestowed upon us while chipping away at our patience and care or concern. Them young boys don't have a clue.

Nah... The bus driver escalated that situation.
You can see him even walking away, but then when young dude said something, he would come back.
If dude spit on him and then the bus driver hit him, that's one thing.
To start swinging on dude and then choking him out the way he did, that was overkill and legally you can't react like that.
He 100% got fired and got charges brought on him. I'd bet money on it.

So, I'm on the bus driver side with this one.
He obviously let his emotions get the best of him. Young dude wasn't being aggressive, all the aggression was coming from the bus driver. The other fucked up part is he put young dude in a position to sue the driver and the bus company/city.

You can tell that anger from the bus driver displayed was years up on years of bottled up anger from from dealing with these kids with no proper parental upbringing.

Fighting a bus driver on a bus is a terrible idea. They know where all the metal bars are at to bounce your head off of.
