While reading that article, Amazon also picked up Michael B. Jordan's Tom Clancy spinoff. From my understanding, this movie was to be the successor to the Jack Ryan franchise. Amazon ain't fucking around.

Yeah, someone will have to innovate to get people back into theaters while making profits near the old. Old money ain't coming back.

The problem I see it is Amazon getting involved hard. They got too much money and will only get stronger in the climate that is killing theaters and other businesses. Amazon becomes the number 1 entertainment hub it's game fucking over.

It's funny, because Amazon are like virtual exhibitors. They going to get people to the movies on Prime and then sell them all kinds of other shit. You get hooked on Prime Video and the store right the fuck there. Just like theaters make money on the selling other shit besides movies, Amazon does too. This ain't Disney+ or Netflix. This same day shipping and Whole Foods bringing your food just in time for showtime(they got 2 hour delivery).

yeah but the technology wasnt there then. you didnt have the quality tv you have now. also smart tv's and shit wasnt around.
at this point if it isnt a marvel movie or scifi movie basically a movie with cgi why would you even go to the movies?

look at it like this is. its like making beats back in the day or recording. you had to go to the studio and pay hundreds of dollars if not thousands.
now everybody can just buy the equipment and make beats at home. hell you can finish a whole track and make your own music video.

i thnk it was @tallblacknyc that said years ago that people were making money selling bootleg movies. i seen it with my own eyes and most times the quality aint even good.
now imaging in the future that you can just buy a virtual ticket and watch that shit on your tv, ipad etc in the best of quality day 1.
