Robbie have done that to me, just like them two other brothas Jason and Bom

I kinda hate to be like that but it is what it is
They had a point.

Shohei Ohtani, Patrick Mahomes, Nikola Jokić and others were much more deserving of the honor.

Deion made the school a grip of cash, had a spark when he started but now he’s 4-8.

I watched more college football this year than ever. Prime did his thing, and I hope he can build up that roster for next season.
Same here….

Who would’ve thought We’d be up at 1am/2am watching fucking Colorado.

Man far as the roster, they need depth but the players they had needed to get their feet wet.
Man portal kids leave for a number of reasons and the number one is playing time. We had a few players that saw significant time at the other schools before a transfer. Those guys actually played pretty decent. The guys that got playing, who really didn’t get looks at the previous school kinda need that seat time, same as with high schoolers…

But I enjoyed the season and will be hyped about next year, just as I was about this year.

One thing I can say, I felt they was gonna get TCU mouf and they did

Football: CU Buffs left tackle Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan to transfer

  • Brian Howell

Colorado’s Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan has been a fixture in the starting lineup for most of the past two seasons.

The tallest player in CU football history has decided to finish his career elsewhere, however.

On Friday, Lichtenhan announced that he will enter the transfer portal, which opens on Monday for all players.

“Anyone that’s been here knows how special of a place Boulder is and I have been so fortunate to call it home over the last four years,” he wrote on social media. “I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunities I’ve had to represent and play for this team and in front of this loyal fanbase.

“After some deep thought and heartfelt conversations with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.”

Nicknamed “Tank,” the 6-foot-10, 315-pound junior played in all 12 games this season for the Buffs (4-8, 1-8 Pac-12), 11 as a starter at left tackle. In the one game he didn’t start, at UCLA on Oct. 28, he played nearly half the snaps (34 of 70) off the bench.

Overall, he led the entire offense in total snaps played (827), according to Pro Football Focus. He has been CU’s starting left tackle for 19 of the Buffs’ last 20 games.

Lichtenhan was named the Pac-12 offensive lineman of the week after CU’s 36-14 rout of Nebraska on Sept. 9, when he posted a PFF grade of 82.2 – by far the highest of any CU lineman this season.

He had a strong start to the season, with PFF grades of 65.5 or higher in each of the first four games, but struggled down the stretch. He was graded below 61.0 in six of the last eight games.

After redshirting in 2020, Lichtenhan played all 12 games in 2021, mostly on special teams. He played a total of 67 snaps on offense that season. Last year, he played sparingly in the first four games, but then was put into the starting lineup at left tackle in Week 5 of the 2022 season and started the last eight games.

In Lichtenhan’s post Friday, he said he intends to remain at CU for the spring semester and graduate in May before moving on to a new school. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Lichtenhan is the third Buff to announce intentions to transfer since last Saturday’s season finale, joining tight end Caleb Fauria and linebacker Marvin Ham II. All three were among the small group of eight scholarship players that first-year head coach Deion Sanders kept from the 2022 team he inherited.

“Thank you to Coach Prime and the entire coaching staff, the excitement you brought back for this program has energized a community and I truly wish you all the utmost success going forward,” Lichtenhan wrote.

Cowboys' Jerry Jones Tells Shedeur Sanders He Could Be No. 1 Pick in NFL Draft

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is among the believers in Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Shedeur and his dad Deion were in attendance for the Cowboys' 41-35 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night. A video uploaded by Well Off Mediaincluded an exchange involving Jones and the Sanders family in which Jones said Shedeur "very easily could be the top pick in the draft."

Shedeur has yet to announce his decision for next season, but Deion signaled in November he expects both of his sons to declare for the 2025 NFL draft rather than forgo their college eligibility in 2024.

Were he to stay at Colorado, there's a chance Shedeur could climb to the top of draft boards by the spring of 2025.

Sanders made a strong impression in his first season at the FBS level. He threw for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions with the Buffs, though his draft stock slipped a bit amid the team's second-half slide.

Sanders is the No. 68 overall prospect and the No. 5 quarterback in Bleacher Report's 2024 big board. However, The Athletic's Dane Brugler ranked him 24th overall on Nov. 1, and ESPN's Mel Kiper had him sixth on his big board.

"Having watched Sanders' tape from 2021 and 2022 and the improvement he has shown this season, I see future top-10 pick potential," Kiper wrote. "He's that good. He's only a true junior, which means he could return to school next season and compete to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 class."

Based on the projections, Sanders would probably be a Day 2 pick at worst if he were to declare for the draft now. Suiting up for Colorado in 2024 could take him to even greater heights.

Ex-Colorado Star Christian Fauria Rips Deion Sanders As Son Hits Transfer Portal

Author:

Nov 30, 2023
Colorado tight end Caleb Fauria announced Monday that he intends to enter the transfer portal, an announcement made notable by two things: 1.) Fauria is one of a relative few holdovers from the Karl Dorrell era to play for Deion Sanders with Buffaloes, and 2.) the graduate transfer is the son of longtime NFL tight end and former Colorado star Christian Fauria.

“I appreciate my time spent at the University of Colorado and all the memories I have made,” Caleb Fauria wrote on social media, announcing the move. “I will be entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer (May 2024) with 2 years of eligibility. Looking for ward to my next opportunity and ready to compete.”

The younger Fauria’s note is pretty standard fare for a college football player in the transfer portal era. His father was not so complimentary toward his alma mater, however, just one day before his son’s announcement.

“I thought there wasn’t an ATM?” Christian Fauria posted on Sunday, sharing a quote from Sanders stating that Buffaloes boosters need to be “giving” more in NIL funds to land top players.

“It’s unfortunate to say this, but some kids cost,” Sanders said. “… We can sit here and talk about great coaching and great this and great that all we want. But it’s going to be a credit card swipe with all these guys going to these playoffs.”

Fauria’s “ATM” reference points to a pretty significant about-face on the subject of player compensation from Sanders. Just days earlier, he said the program wouldn’t be trying to draw players that way.

“We’re not an ATM. That’s not gonna happen here,” Sanders said on Nov. 21. “If you come to Colorado to play football for me and the Colorado Buffaloes, it’s because you really want to play football and receive a wonderful education.”

New England Patriots tight end Christian Fauria celebrates a touchdown catch in 2005.

Former Colorado Buffaloes and New England Patriots standout Christian Fauria criticized CU coach Deion Sanders a day before his son entered the transfer portal with the intention of leaving the Buffaloes program.
Craig Melvin/USA TODAY Sports
After his son’s announcement, Christian Fauria proceeded to share a number of posts about it, along with one particularly scathing message from SiriusXM’s Danny Kanell, outlining recent struggles for Colorado as the team finished its 2023 season.

If Sanders has come to believe that Buffaloes boosters need to step up through NIL contributions, losing someone like Fauria likely won’t help. The 52-year old Buffaloes great is a former third-team All-America selection and first-team All-Big 8 selection who went on to win a pair of Super Bowls with the Patriots during a career that also saw him spend time with the Seahawks, Panthers and Washington.

Sanders, who was named Sports Illustrated’s 2023 Sportsperson of the Year on Thursday, took college football by storm, starting his first season in the Power 5 at 3–0 with a win over last year’s national runner-up, TCU. However, Fauria’s comments show that Coach Prime isn’t beloved by the entire Colorado football community. He certainly has put the Buffaloes back on the map in the sport, elevating a team that went 1–11 a year ago and overseeing a massive roster transformation.

However, after sputtering to a 4–8 finish, it is evident that there is still plenty of work to be done in Boulder, whether or not the ATM opens up.

Oregon wearing Deion Sanders' Nike Diamond Turf 3's for Pac-12 championship

Ducks looking for their own 'Prime Effect' in a final Pac-12 football game

The Oregon Ducks might be fighting for wins and not clicks, but they sure made a statement to open up Friday night's Pac-12 championship game. Dan Lanning's fifth-ranked team came out wearing Deion Sanders' Nike Diamond Turf 3 cleats vs. Washington.

This was the first time seeing the signature look in Oregon's traditional green and yellow. A few Colorado players including Shedeur and Shilo Sanders wore them throughout the season, paying homage to their father. It appears Nike will be expanding to more teams in the future with Oregon reaping the benefits.

The DT3 sneaker line is making a return to the market nearly three decades after the original run. In Coach Prime’s press conference prior to Utah, we learned of Nike’s plans to release the iconic shoe that changed football cleats forever to the public. Sanders teased the release saying it was in the works with a gold Nike swoosh. We've been told they'll be available in July 2024.

Oregon and Washington are playing for a shot to represent the conference in the College Football Playoff. The third-ranked Huskies went undefeated during the regular season and look to beat the Ducks for a second time. It was Oregon's only loss that they'll try to overcome.

A great battle between Heisman hopefuls with Washington's Michael Penix, Jr. and Oregon's Bo Nix squaring off against each other. The Pac-12 duo and LSU's Jayden Daniels will likely be the top three making a trip to New York.

Football: Athletic director Rick George excited about CU Buffs’ future under Deion Sanders

Colorado athletic director Rick George didn’t expect the Buffaloes’ football season to be over before the calendar flipped to December, but he’s also not upset about it.

Going 4-8 (1-8 Pac-12) isn’t what George, head coach Deion Sanders or anyone else at CU had in mind for this year, but it’s certainly nowhere near where the program was one year ago.

“I think if you went into this year, from at the end of last year, you’d be really happy to where we are,” George said in an interview with BuffZone. “The fact that we’ve competed in (almost) every game tells me a lot about these players and I think when we get a full year with a group under our belt, I think we’re gonna see results that are going to really be meaningful.”

George made the decision on Oct. 2, 2022, to fire then-head coach Karl Dorrell and take the football program in a different direction. At the time, the Buffs were 0-5, with five blowout losses. They finished that season 1-11, with 10 blowout losses. The only win came in a spirited, overtime thriller against California, with interim head coach Mike Sanford doing his best to keep the program together.

CU and George swung for the fences in going after Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Famer who led a resurgent three-year run at Jackson State. Hiring Sanders on Dec. 4 of last year brought CU from complete irrelevance to the national spotlight.

From record-breaking ticket sales – CU sold-out every home for the first time ever and also sold out its spring game for the first time – to unprecedented levels of merchandise sales and national TV exposure, hiring Sanders was a major win.

“The exposure has been great,” George said. “People are very interested in us. … There’s people all over the country that, it’s about football, but it’s more than football. What he’s creating and the development of young men and all of those kinds of things are really important to people. While football is the driver that puts you there, it’s all the other things that have been very beneficial. People see that and recognize that and I think it’s gonna allow us to have great success in the future.”

On the field, the results didn’t match the hype, especially considering the Buffs’ sizzling start. They opened with a stunning, 45-42 upset at then-No. 17 TCU, which was eight months removed from playing in the national title game. That win vaulted the Buffs into the national rankings and they climbed to No. 18 with a rout of rival Nebraska in Week 2, followed by a double-overtime win against in-state rival Colorado State.

When Pac-12 play hit, however, the results didn’t go CU’s way, as it finished alone in last place in the conference.

A six-game losing streak to close the year took some of the shine off the season, yet George sees a program on the rise. Unlike past years, especially 2022, the Buffs were competitive in losses. Of the eight defeats, five were one-score games. Another, a 28-16 loss at UCLA, was a five-point game going into the fourth quarter.

“We’ve got coaches that have been together a short period of time,” George said. “We’ve got players that have been together a short period of time. I feel like we’re in a good spot. It hasn’t been great (on the field), but we’re in a good spot. We’ll have some momentum going into recruiting and then we’ll get back at it in January, hopefully with a full team that has been together and they’ve got eight months to work until the next season.”

Because of the fast start and the hype – much of it created by Sanders – the Buffs’ season could be deemed as a failure. Yet, the progress was in line with or better than most programs in a similar position.

This year, 25 FBS teams had first-year head coaches and CU was one of only six to win at least three more games than last year. Nobody else in that group played a schedule as tough as CU’s. The other five teams – Northwestern, South Florida, Liberty, UNLV and Texas State – combined for four games against ranked opponents (going 0-4), while Colorado had six games against Top 25 foes (going 1-5 with three one-score losses).

“I feel like we’re positioning ourselves for the future and recruiting is coming up and that’s gonna be really important for us,” George said. “I think having the majority of our squad in place in January is going to be great. I’m not disappointed, I’m really not. I know our coaches are working hard, our student athletes are working hard and I think our future is incredibly bright.”

That future includes moving to the Big 12 next summer and George expects the Buffs to compete right away.

“I have high expectations; that’s just who we are,” he said. “We’re gonna do everything that we can in the offseason to make sure that we’re prepared going into next season to have a great year in our first year in the Big 12 and we’re excited about that.

“I’m confident about where we’re headed and that’s why I’m not discouraged (about this year’s results). … I think if you go from last year to this year, where we are, we’re significantly better and it’s because of (Sanders’) leadership. That’s a fact.”

Yup

And there wasn't really anyone else Ohtani injured, Mahomes has had much better seasons, I could completely understand Joker but he don't talk and that cover is gonna give him even more spotlight which you know he don't want and doesn't need if there is a tragedy in the black community and Joker says absolutely nothing and gets killed for it.

Prime story is insane even with the disappointment

It was probably decided months ago anyway

I'm good with it

Ok oh… I might send them a message and tell them to create their own awards

^^^

And trust there have been much worse selections

Cracka was spot on. Coach Prime out her looking like a damn fool. Having a recruiting class like this one is unacceptable. That’s the most disappointing part of all this.
You gotta give Deion credit for one thing. He looks cool
He looks the part, now all he has to do is win some damn games. :eek2:

Man our high school was horrible a new coach took over. The first thing he told the team, we getting new gear, I’d we gonna be sorry we gonna look good.

They went 0-10 his first year but the next year they was a force and looked good.
One problem they ran across Ryan Perriloux, the best high school QB I’ve seen in person.
