They do have short routes but they are not open because the lack of a running game. Without a running game the defense is dropping 7. At that point it is simply a numbers game. 4 wideouts vs 7 defenders

And this freshman QB at Nebraska is better than the veteran starter that they had last year
Nebraska recruited well. I mentioned before, no one has found success without it

Your offensive line should be highschool recruits where you develop them in house
What recruits? Colorado basically ignored recruiting. I believe Prime could have had a top recruiting class if he put the effort into it.
Including transfers (portal).
You shouldn't be relying entirely on portal guys. I get doing it the 1st year exclusively but having a 12 person recruiting class not including portal players is pathetic. Most portal guys were disappointments at their previous school.
I agree for more reasons than I'll share but once they're on the team-coach em up to get the job done. Coach Prime is paying the price for it.

How many coaches have ever turned a 1-win team around in just one season? The Buffs won 4 games last year, and they're not doing much better now. Coach Prime should've gone with freshmen from the start.
If he'd done that, those freshmen would have gotten valuable experience last season and been ready to compete this year.
Instead, he's stuck with a team that's only slightly better and nothing to show for it.
His sons and hunter are gone after this season. He not gonna stay without them being there.
