go watch a bird getting hacked compilation and than ask yourself do you think kd would survive that knowing his history of injuries.. They were literally close lining bird.. The pistons would of killed kd

Its funny you guys see highlights of hard fouls from their rivalry and you talk as though every drive to the basket ended with dead bodies.

No man these are just the highlights.

But still, i do not see how getting close-lined is supposed to be connected to foot injuries.

Can you explain it please?

I think that you need to re-read what you typed. You said players needed to be “Strong” insinuating that KD isn’t strong because of his stature. You apparently didn’t appreciate that I showed you Reggie Miller.

You called players mentally weak. I asked you to tell me a time when KD was shown to be mentally weak on the court. You haven’t done it. You’re letting the media cloud your judgment as to who KD is.

The only person who’s showing themself to be dumb is you. Players for the most part are more skilled and athletic than athletes from the past, and somehow these athletes wouldn’t make it in the NBA during that era?

I believe you or another poster stated that Lebron would be “Average”. Lebron has the build of a Karl Malone and handles the ball like Magic. No he’s not as good as Magic but that’s who he’s compared to and he’d be “Average”?

You assholes really talk out your asses sometimes.

Ummmmmm.....lmao! You being serious with that question? KD has been proven to be mentally weak period. On and off the court. Players back then would’ve ate his ass up getting in his head. Pippen would’ve locked KD up and made him wilt under the pressure. I’ve watched KD with my own two eyes and watched him since he played at Texas. So shut that media shit up. Lmao!!!!!

Yes, you have to be strong mentally and physically to play in that era. A lot of these players today come straight out of high school or one and done. So that means majority of these players are underdeveloped mentally and physically. Back then these dudes were grown ass men with 3 to 4 years of college to develope before they even hit the league. And college wasn’t no punk back then. Even in college you had to be solid. As far as you posting Reggie Miller is null and void because Reggie was tough as fuck! Hell, even Cheryl Miller would torch these cats in today’s league. And she was considered to be a beast back in the day.

Why don’t you see any big men in the league anymore? Everybody wants to be finesse outside shooters and don’t want to get physical. That’s because the league allowed all these young cats to come in fresh off the titty and created a league where physicality is lacking. If you blow your breath on a player the refs blow the whistle or cats start flopping and shit including LeBron. He bitches about fouls more than any player on the planet and for his size advantage over most in the league today that’s some shameful shit. Shaq was getting his ass literally beat in the paint because he was so dominant, but would barely bitch about getting calls. He would either handle up or show force in the paint because he was about that action though. Once again, this league today is soft. It’s built around finesse and not toughness.

So, once again you need to take some notes.

So you couldnt name a single injury that KD sustained by getting hit... but you just decided that his body is frail and getting fouled would injure him.

I guess guys in the 80s and 90s never got injured or missed any time. Oh wait...

And you have the nerve to talk about make believe land...

This convo was hilarious to me thanks.

So, once again you need to take some notes.

Reggie Miller was tough, but he’s also one of the first known floppers always looking to draw files. Take notes.

Jordan was also known to get fouls called against a defender if a player breathed on him when he had the ball. Take another note.

Shaq did get fouled a lot because due to his size, refs figured he could take it. Lebron also gets fouled a lot many not called, because refs think he can take it.

It’s not the players fault the league is so called “Soft”. Blame NBA management and the owners, it’s their rules that they put in place. They want the league to be finesse instead of tough.

We don’t see prototypical big men in the league anymore mainly due to the advancement of the game. We had Hakeem and David Robinson who could handle the ball, along with European bigs coming into the league with the ability to handle the ball and shoot.

Back to KD, you didn’t tell me a time when he showed himself to be mentally weak on the court.

KD was injured last year and had no business playing in the playoffs, his achilles was injured. But him in a free agent contract year risked his health to help his team, who would’ve lost had he not played in that game. That showed mental and physical toughness.

Many call him mentally weak because he responds to bullshit that the media and some fans say. Most athletes don’t bother to respond because they act like they’re “Above” all the talk. He actually responds to some things and y’all call him weak. When players don’t respond most call them aloof and that they don’t care.

You can’t win.

And I gave you some notes so you don’t need to take them.

If anyone thinks mentally and physically frail players like KD could withstand a constant beating like this, you’re sadly mistaken. Yes MJ got a lot of calls, but they still clobbered him every time him came down the lane......and he NEVER complained. It was big boy ball back then...

MJ even admitted he had to do some serious bulking up over the offseason to withstand the constant physical punishment from the Pistons defense during playoff time. That was the only way he was able to finally get past them after being sent home three consecutive years.

Some of that is false though.

MJ complained to the refs ALL THE TIME.

Other players from that era are on record saying they could never get away with talking to the refs the way MJ spoke to them.

Also, regarding the Pistons series, MJ kept calling Commissioner David Stern to tell on the Pistons, telling him the league should protect its stars. So what do we call that???

Once again, your comprehension is laughably ignorant. Lmao!

1. I didn’t say Reggie didn’t do some acting but he was still heads and above tougher than majority of the stars in the league today. You can’t be Reggie Miller in that era if you weren’t. Smh

2. Jordan took punishment early in his career and bulked the fuck up to not only take the punishment but dish it as well. Jordan was no punk. Jordan got some benefits after a while but his whole career wasn’t based off that shit. Stop it!

3. Shaq got fouled and dished it back out. LeBron just bitches about it night in and night out. He has his moments where he may dish it but it’s far and few in between. Smh

4. I didn’t say anywhere in my post that it was the players fault. I clearly said the league was at fault, but that doesn’t negate the fact that the league is a soft ass baby ass league. I bet a lot of players from that era wish they were playing now because they would dominate. This league is emotional, mentally and physically weaker than any era in the last. Everyone talking about more athletic, but when the league is all finesse with no physicality how can you say that? That’s why you see
5. You don’t see big men anymore because everyone wants to be finesse and not physical. Even Hakeem and David were physical with finesse skills. Hell, Shaq was physical with finesse skills. Nobody wants to be physical and quite frankly fear it. Let’s be real. Big men today would piss themselves playing against Malone, Barkley, Kemp, Rodman, Shaq, Robinson, Johnson, Ewing, The Dream, and etc. They wouldn’t even dare enter the paint. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of big men during that era.

6. Now, if you’re shown to be mentally weak on the court when he got punked by Draymond Green of all people and he allowed Russ to be the Alpha of the Thunder. Also, he didn’t even show up when they had GSW up 3-1 in them WCF. They should’ve won the chip that year. Him going to GSW after that proves how mentally weak he is. No more needs to be said. That’s why you made the disclaimer of on the court because you already know KD is mentally weak. Burner account ass nigga.

7. That honestly proves how dumb he was to me. It was known that the injury was more than likely more serious than what was being said but he decided to say fuck his future and go for it. In some regard I would say that’s some player shit but it wasn’t. Now, you may bring up MJ in this regard but let’s be real. MJ has a minor 10% chance to re-injure his foot. It was super suspect if KD coming back would cause further injury and then boom! He’s out for the year.

8. I’m not even going to respond to that dumb shit you just said about that. Lmao!!!

Trust me! I’m not trippin off no W, cuh! I already know your b-ball IQ is worth shit right now. Lmao

Your comprehension skills aren’t laughable anymore, they’re irritating.

1. You said KD wouldn’t last because of frame, again I showed you Reggie Miller. You said stature, I showed you stature. We weren’t talking about toughness. I know Reggie’s tough and I haven’t seen KD be weak on the court. People talk shot to him and he talks shit right back.

The Clippers thought the locked him down and he stated “I’m Kevin Durant”. The next game he dropped 50.

2. I didn’t say Jordan’s whole career was based of whining and foul calls. He did do it a lot and players of the time noticed that he got lots of calls.

3. Shaq did get fouled a lot and dished it out. Lebron’s a different player and guess he’s not interested in dishing it out. I’m not here to psychoanalyze Lebron.

4. You said and continue to say that the players today are soft. The league penalizes too much so we don’t know what would happen if players were allowed to be themselves and fight. These pussy ass rules have it so a player can’t even dunk on someone and stare them down without getting a technical. The NBA Management pussified the NBA, not the players.

5. I already explained why they don’t have prototypical big men anymore. That style of play is viewed as old and limited, more skills means more ways to score and more ways to help your team.

Dwight Howard’s a prototypical big man, he looks ancient out there and many look at him like he hasn’t advanced his skill level.

6. KD told Draymond that he should’ve passed the ball. Draymond went on a hissyfit and couldn’t let it go. Draymond appeared bitchlike with pent up emotions that he was holding onto. In my opinion Draymond looked mentally weak not KD in that situation.

Regarding OKC being up 3-1 to the Warriors, I remember bad shooting and shots as the reason they lost. I’ll have to go look back one day but yes, being up 3-1 OKC should’ve won.

7. I admire KD for putting it on the line for his team. I knew the injury was his achilles but the team lied and said it was his calf.

The medical staff cleared him to play. And one thing I will never forget about that entire situation is the doctors telling him, “Playing won’t make it any worse”.

I still can’t even fathom that statement. But he put it on the line for his teammates, some thing it’s foolish but it was admirable to me.

And no I’m not going to mention MJ’s foot.

Please don't compare Dwight to old school centers.. He has no fundamentals, no jumpshot, immature.. Old school centers were even disappointed in his production being that people like hakeem and ewing tried to teach him and he pretty much learns nothing... Anothy davis dominates in today's game and wouldn't be top 5 in the 80s and 90s.. So that right there tells you the big men of yrs ago would dominate today

please stop saying more skills.. Athletic and skill/fundamentals are two diff things.. These dudes of today don't have the same fundamentals.. It's why nigs lack post moves, play calls, bank shots and various other basic fundamentals... Being athletic is like saying a wr can run and jump out the blding but doesn't know how to do basic routes or can't catch the ball that well.. Athletic means nothing when you lack basic skillsets

When I say Old School Center, I’m talking about a “Back to the Basket” Center. Those Center’s with classic back to the basket game. Dwight Howard, Andre Drummond, Rudy Gobert.

Those three Centers compared to Embiid and Anthony David come across as damn near unskilled. And I’m talking about basketball skill, not simply athleticism.

So Anthony Davis who’s 7ft, shoot the 3 and can take players off the dribble wouldn’t be a top 5 Center in the 80’s and 90’s?

Ok.

Hey, I understand and let people say what they say.

That year he was with the Lakers and did “Bad”, he averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds a game. :dunno:

He’s career double double guy, but with the advancement of the center position they want Dwight to have more offensive moves.

defensively he was a beast.. He scored with his limited offensive ability.. He also was playing in the right era.. This has always been discussed.. Some players played in right eras.. He ain't top 5 of all-time time and he ain't top 10.. I bet you can name 10 centers better than him since the 80s

So are you saying he would be better than kareem, hakeem, Moses malone, the admiral, shaq? How about duncan? I just named 6 right there that would obvious picks over him.. Do you want me to add ewing to the mix? His ranking goes lower the more I add on names.. I think you guys really forget the old days

Go look at Anthony Davis stats and compare them to the rest of the players you mentioned. And before you tell me how Moses Malone would’ve bodied David, they both were 6’10. Moses 215 and Davis 235.

I also said Davis would’ve been a top 5 center in the 80’s and 90’s with his skillset. Look at the stats.

And I don’t want to hear “But But”... Just look at the stats.

Also I remember the old days quite well, I think some of you are diminishing skillsets and not remembering players with similar skillsets being successful back then.

So Anthony Davis who would be a mixture of David Robinson and Hakeem and could shoot the 3 wouldn’t be successful?

And no I’m not comparing Davis to them, just comparing the style of play and skillsets.

But if you’d like to compare those stats, feel free. I know the stats so I already know exactly what I’m talking about.

Of course he would.

Anthony Davis is a better center and basketball player then Patrick Ewing. Easy. In talent, skill, athleticism, versatility... everything.

The best centers in the 80s were Kareem, Hakeem, Malone and Ewing. So Anthony Davis would be top 5 easily in the 80s.

In the 90s Robinson came in, Shaq came in, Hakeem is still there but Kareem left. So again Anthony would be top 5 easily.

Duncan came into the league in 97 as a PF. He isnt a '90s' center.

The disrespect of today's players is ridiculous.

Dwight Howard had the body of a god sent from heaven. You couldn’t create a better basketball player. He had every physical attribute a basketball player needs but never lived up to his physical gifts

Being athletic is like saying a wr can run and jump out the blding but doesn't know how to do basic routes or can't catch the ball that well.. Athletic means nothing when you lack basic skillsets
Yeah Dwight was a physical specimen. He had the body and athleticism of a god. One of the most physically gifted athletes of all time.

It’s like his body was created in a lab to play basketball. His career, even in his prime never lived up to his physical gifts. He was a really good player but should have been more dominant

Dwight Howard had the body of a god sent from heaven. You couldn’t create a better basketball player. He had every physical attribute a basketball player needs but never lived up to his physical gifts

Just to clarify can someone, anyone quote me a SOURCE that gives NAMES (Jordan/Isaiah SPECIFICALLY) that says Isaiah snubbed Jordan in the all star game. Do the same for Jordan snubbing Isaiah from the dream team. Don't give me any "un named sources" either. I want Jordan and Isaiah.

The general consensus from news pundits, sports casters and sports fanatics is that it happened but in all my years of following the game I've yet to set an actual quote, interview or live feed of either of those two making these claims. It's always been "un named sources".

However when Larry Johnson and Pippen had beef they spoke on it during Sunday games when both teams played in between commercial breaks. When Shaq took issue with David Robinson he spoke on it on TNT.

Why is it that those players had no problem calling it what it was but when it comes to Isaiah and Jordan all we seem to get is media hype? I'm not going to belive any of that hype until I actually see either of them speak it like men do. Especially after seeing this interview. It smells like some WWE/WWF, Barnum and Bailey circus hype by the media and the NBA to push a narrative in hindsight if you ask me. Straight out a Vince McMahon play book.
