I prefer to not formulate firm conclusions on matters I am not fully aware of, on every level. She sounds crazy af, but how am to be certain she isn't being treated unfairly behind the scenes? Why would I be privy to that information? All I know is her side, and what everyone else says that she calls out. I'm not taking up for her, but I am just keeping my mind open, because I can afford to.
I don't have to work with Monique. If I had the option to work with her or not, I'd probably steer clear of her.

the first step in any activism is to stand up for yourself. So yeah her actions WOULD BE for her. Its her career on the line But the example of that can help others see whats going on.
And people who stand up for themselves tend to not be liked. Malcolm X was killed, MLK was killed Curt Flood didn;t get the deal he fought for but future athletes enjoy the results of his struggle.

I believe the turning point in her career and life was precious...what should have been her greatest triumph ended being bitter-sweet becuz because literally all the people who could have spoke up for her didn;t and add insult to abandonment they turned around and used their platform to speak on her situation and never once said (as far as I can tell) the rumors are NOT true. DL spoke on it on his radio show and essentially just gossiped about with other comedians.
Steve Harvey brought her on his show...NEVER SAID THE RUMORS WERENT TRUE then tried to lecture her about how to behave. Going so far as to say your personal integrity comes a distant second to gettin money. And lets not forget the shit between him and Bernie Mac and how Bernie felt he tried to burn him.
So who is monique really burning bridges with? She won major awards off the strength of HER talent. Her stand up career is parallel in length and time-in to steve and DL...And no ones ever mentioned how they helped her or gave her an opportunity early on....and the ONE TIME they could have helped her they chose to NOT and both have shown to be fake friends who smile in your face but when the shit goes down they step to the side.

The reason why I am not ready to throw her under the bus completely is, I am not aware of there being any issues with Monique being outspoken, going against the grain, and being a thorn in anyone's side prior to her complaint with being "underpaid" by NetFlix.
The only news I can recall related to her prior to that, that had nothing to do with comedy or acting, was that she let her man have sex outside of their relationship.
So, if she only suddenly became this unbearable diva AFTER criticizing NetFlix, then I have to at least entertain the possibility that she is being unfairly characterized by"Big Media".

Monique played the conversation she had with perry where he said she needs to do another movie and use the buzz from that to move from this situation....but the problem is at that point the rumor had already gone out (and TP didn't help with his comments on it) and the offers had already dried up.
But theyre talking about the principle and real time damage that rumor did... one that Perry (behind closed doors) said she was right and Daniels eventually apologized to her for.
Now if O and TP and daniels had/have influence like that then they had it to kill that issue the second it happened...if they don't then theyre just some rich black people who answer to higher ups and if thats the case then fuck it why tip toe around them then?
