It was great to see her on stage and gawd damn it she looked kinda sexy at times
She has great presence commanding great storyteller funny

It was fine I laughed once or twice
Monique was never THAT kind of comedian to me. you know what I mean not a tried and true dedicated stand up.
The cursing went way down at the half way mark but the first about 20 minutes?

It was like the worst stereotypical example of "black stand up" the curses were lazy in their excessive use. I KNOW Mo brand of comedy. I get it trust me. But it was not used as an emphasis or playing a character or to shock or accentuate. She was just cursing to curse.
She needs a new writer. And she needs to rehearse more. Some bits just ran too long without a real good resolution/punchline.
It was not bad it was just regular and what I expected. Nothing more which is really sad because it could/should have been a classic

I wasn't clear she has all the makings of a good storyteller and I felt how the audience is enraptured with her...
She CAN tell a good story I have head her do it many times and during this show she was SO CLOSE but couldn't stick the landing
And didn't know how to riff, flip, enunciate, etc on that stage that night.
But she DOES KNOW HOW INHERENTLY.
I was disappointed she let the emotion and gravity of the moment overwhelm her.
But again I never considered her a "stand up" like that.
