In late 2019, Mo'Nique sued Netflix for gender and racial discrimination after the streaming service offered her $500,000 for a 2018 comedy special. A federal judge eventually sided with Mo'Nique, agreeing that Netflix's refusal to negotiate an opening offer, which was consistent with its normal business practices, constituted an "adverse employment action for purposes of a retaliation claim." The matter was resolved "amicably," according to her attorney, in mid-2022.

But with the amount of attention this has gotten he runs the risk of other entertainers now seeing his platform as a way to air people out in order to up their profile and promote themselves or their products.

Not unlike rappers who suddenly start taking shots at everyone when they have a new album dropping.

And that can come in the form of musicians, comedians, actors/actresses, athletes, journalists, etc. which makes it trickier.

As long as he keeps a balance he'll be fine but if he isn't his show can easily turn into a new age Jerry Springer or Morton Downey Jr.

If you ever had the experience of dealing with a narcissist then you may have some empathy for him.

That settlement is a win for her if you're looking at it in the short term. In the long term she lost! Netflix settled it to get rid of her. She will never get a special on Netflix and others are looking at it and believe me when Monique knocks on there door they are not even going to answer because they don't want to be sued. Netflix could have won the case but would have lost in the court of public opinion and that's why they settled.
