Elon's companies receive $Billions in government subsidies and contracts. Truth be told he is a shrewd and extremely flawed "businessman." He runs his businesses by the motto of "Move fast and break things."
As such Twitter, now X, is worth about 25% of what he bought it for. Not 25% less .... 75% less, only 25% of the $44 billion he had to borrow money for. Mfkrs that bought a Tesla Model S Plaid new for $120K and when they trade it in 3 yrs later to only get $46K are better off percentage wise.
Space X is the unofficial rocket maker/ partner of NASA. But only because NASA couldn't successfully advance its own rocket/ shuttle programs. But even still it was facing repeated fines for not submitting the appropriate pre-launch data and an investigation into cutting corners and not properly addressing flaws in its rockets/ equipment.
Neuralink was allowed to move onto human trials even after a few very bad incidents involving apes. But even still after X years, that company continues to lose money.
StarLink was recently facing $1 Million per day fines for allowing it's services to be used in Brazil where it was banned.
The Boring company was supposed to build a chain of tunnels underground LA to ease traffic congestion and provide a shortcut to Tesla drivers...... it successfully completed 1 tunnel after numerous delays and has no current plans of drilling more tunnels.
xAI was born after Elon was unsuccessful in his attempt to compete a hostile takeover of OpenAI in 2018. He has been playing catch up to Open ever since and even tried to force another takeover recently with an outrageous bid to OpenAI's board of directors, which was promptly rejected.

I got that email today as a federal worker. I’m being told not to ignore the email. Federal workers outside of the US don’t have collective bargaining (Unions). I can list what I did last week but that’s not the point. The point is what happens if they’re not satisfied with what people call work. Especially for the folks supporting the US military outside of Continent United States. On top of that, I’m transitioning between jobs. So at the end of the day, I might not even have a job.

See all this drama, has triggered my PTSD from my working career. No way I would ever go back to that crazy nonsense. The federal government is one of the worst cheap paying employers in the market. Low balling salaries and false promises of a long-term career. If they don't get you with job terminations, they're underpaying you utilizing various tactics.

My boy made it seem like Elons crew walked in and compromised OPM with a flash drive and started sending out mass emails. Apparently his superiors were saying they were not sure if it was someone hacking the system but has given general guidance to ignore the emails coming out.
Called my other partner in the airforce and he's saying the same thing. Even eluded that there were 4 emails prior to the one that just went out yesterday.
