:smh: Max Kellerman voice is annoying
How is this different from Skip Bayless? His voice was also annoying. I don't really care. I don't want either so anyway. Steven A. Smith has been cooning so long that he'll set up and take this.

Wasn't Max Kellerman the original host of the show that comes before PTI on ESPN? ESPN realized that he was useless then then puts stat boy there. Wow, when you're white there is no end to the amount of times you get recycled, fired because you suck, and recycled again

She's such an annoying, whiny bitch always trying to play the victim.
She has a problem with Mayweather to the point where she said she would no longer watch WWE because Triple H is friends with Mayweather.
Meanwhile, her favorite wrestler is Stone Cold Steve Austin who has a documented history of domestic abuse and she's never said shit about that.

Max Kellerman a safe -- but smart -- replacement for Skip Bayless on 'First Take'

On Monday ESPN announced that Max Kellerman will join Stephen A. Smith as the co-host of First Take, taking the seat most recently occupied by Skip Bayless.

Kellerman will step into the role starting July 25, joining Smith and moderator Molly Qerim.

It’s a safe — and I’d argue smart — decision by ESPN. Kellerman is a pro, having worked on numerous television shows for ESPN. He’s also used to the debate format, as he’s done Around the Horn and currently hosts Max & Marcellus on ESPNLA 710AM. (His last radio show will be this Friday, July 15.)

He can talk, he’s smart, he won’t back down from Smith, and while I’m sure the takes will run plenty hot, Kellerman can provide some needed context and subtlety to a program that’s been lacking in it.

What all this means for the ratings, we’ll have to see.

HBO’s Max Kellerman will be going head-to-head with Stephen A. Smith after he was selected to replace Skip Bayless on ESPN2’s two-hour morning debate show“First Take,” the network announced on Monday. He will debut on July 25.

Of course, boxing fans know Kellerman for his work on HBO’s various fight platforms, from “Boxing After Dark” to “World Championship Boxing” to PPV, as well as his “Face-off” segments and guest spots on “The Fight Game.” HBO Sports spokesman Ray Stallone said his new gig on “First Take” would have no bearing on his responsibilities with HBO, and he will continue his current work load.

Kellerman will have to move back to the East Coast, where he is from since the show is taped in Bristol, Connecticut. Kellerman’s final show on ESPN2’s “SportsNation” will be Friday. Kellerman and Smith once co-hosted an ESPN Radio New York show. The two are fight fans, so boxing will surely have a more prominent role on the show than it did with Bayless.

“Years back, on-the-air and in the hallways of ESPN Radio New York, Stephen A. and I would engage in detailed and thoughtful discussions on sports and every other topic you can imagine,” Kellerman said in a statement. “To do that again, now for the First Take audience, is going to be a lot of fun.”

“I’m thrilled to join the excellent team at First Take,” said Kellerman. “Years back, on-the-air and in the hallways of ESPN Radio New York, Stephen A. and I would engage in detailed and thoughtful discussions on sports and every other topic you can imagine. To do that again, now for the First Take audience, is going to be a lot of fun.”

Stephen A. Smith added, “I’m ecstatic to have Max on board. We’ve known one another for years. We worked at ESPN New York together and we both love our boxing. More importantly, Max is smart, quick on his feet and is never — ever — afraid to go at anyone. Just the kind of partner I wanted. It’s time! Let’s go! Can’t wait!”

Norby Williamson, ESPN executive vice president, production, stated, “Whether you’ve seen Max on SportsNation, boxing coverage or heard him on radio, you know his passion and sports knowledge break through the clutter with smart opinions and lively debate. We are confident that the chemistry on the set will make for a compelling commentary with Stephen A. and Molly.”

Nearly three weeks after Skip Bayless left ESPN2’s “First Take,” we officially learned the identity of his replacement: Max Kellerman. The 42-year-old ESPN personality and boxing analyst will begin squaring off with Stephen A. Smith on July 25.

Kellerman will leave his jobs as a co-host of ESPN2’s “SportsNation” and of ESPN Radio’s Los Angeles-based “Max & Marcellus” show. The New York native got his start at ESPN on its “Friday Night Fights” boxing program and was the original host of “Around the Horn” from 2002 to January 2004.

“I’m thrilled to join the excellent team at ‘First Take,’ ” Kellerman said in a statement. “Years back, on-the-air and in the hallways of ESPN Radio New York, Stephen A. and I would engage in detailed and thoughtful discussions on sports and every other topic you can imagine. To do that again, now for the ‘First Take’ audience, is going to be a lot of fun.”

In his own statement, Smith said, “I’m ecstatic to have Max on board. We’ve known one another for years. We worked at ESPN New York together and we both love our boxing. More importantly, Max is smart, quick on his feet and is never — ever — afraid to go at anyone. Just the kind of partner I wanted. It’s time! Let’s go! Can’t wait!”

“First Take” transformed from its origins as a segment on ESPN’s former morning show, “Cold Pizza,” to the epitome of the network’s much-derided “embrace debate” movement. Relying on a back-and-forth format between two pundits seemingly required to vehemently disagree on the major sports topics of the day, the show has turned into a ratings success for ESPN and a launching pad for Smith and Bayless into national stardom.

Bayless, the original foundation of the show, has moved to Fox Sports and will reportedly be paid handsomely to anchor its new slate of sports-debate programming, under the guidance of the former producer of “First Take.” Another ESPN star who moved to Fox Sports, Colin Cowherd, recently opined (via The Big Lead) that the loss of Kellerman would anger “SportsNation” host Michelle Beadle.

Meanwhile, Smith, who joined “First Take” in 2012, has become ESPN’s most prominent personality and is called upon in a variety of situations, particularly with regard to NBA coverage. In his June farewell performance on the show, Bayless referred to Smith as “my partner, my brother, my friend” and said, “I will love you until death do us part.”

Molly Qerim, the moderator of “First Take,” is set to continue her role. “I’m thrilled that Max will join us and am very excited for the next chapter,” she said in a statement.

Kellerman will continue his duties as an analyst for HBO’s “World Championship Boxing,” “Boxing After Dark” and “The Fight Game with Jim Lampley.” It remains to be seen if Kellerman picks up where Bayless left off in terms of having boundless admiration for Tim Tebow anddisdain for LeBron James.

It seems that Stephen A. Smith has already gotten over Skip Bayless’ departure from ESPN to Fox Sports.

The new version of ESPN2’s First Take with Smith, Max Kellerman and Molly Qerim will debut Monday at 10 a.m. ET. Smith held a Facebook Live session on Sunday to discuss the show and introduce his new hot-take production opponent, Kellerman.

Smith said that he initially joined the show because Bayless asked him to, so he often deferred to Bayless. Not anymore. Smith fit in a parting message for Bayless, declaring his rule over the new First Take.

Smith said of the show without Bayless:

“He’s gone. It’s my reign now. With Max. With Molly. And we’re not going to hesitate to bring it. We’re not running from anything. We are going to make it happen. We are going to do what we’ve been doing. And we are going to strive to take it to another level. It’s just that simple.”

He went on and started shouting:

“We’re not going anywhere. We’re about making this happen. We’re about making sure that everybody understands that the heat, the fervor, the tenacity, the conviction, the fight! The feistiness and everything else you’ve come to expect, it will be here.”

You can watch his full Facebook Live video here. He begins discussing Bayless around the 3:30 mark.
