Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

Still, they could have have some kind of confrontation between Jon and the NK, and then have Arya come in and finish the job or something. It just felt like a let down that virtually nothing was there other than the dragon fight, when people were anticipating some kind of showdown since Hardhome.

I wanted that too but as Jon got closer to the Night King, he raised a new squad as if to say to Jon (and us GOT fans), "But it's the other way - Marlo"

I agree. Let's see if the show plays it out that way though.
I know that there should be more Dothraki than the ones we seen killed.
Matter of fact there should be more Northern forces that what we saw in that episode to be honest.

Didn't ALL of the Dothraki submit to Dany when she burned the Khal leaders in the temple and walked out naked and unscathed?

Man don’t waste your time

Bgol full of stupid ass people.

Bruh Black folks watching GOT are fucking idiots. You can tell who has never read the books, read background info on the characters, or just never read anything of substance before. Grimm laid out a lot of evidence of what Arya has been doing and idiots still like naw I ain’t seen shit. She has literally trained and learned from 3 of the best masters in that field in the know world. People ain’t even pick up how she had Littlefinger shook! That alone should tell you how cold she is that he picked up on it. He saw it in her.

Last Hearth is NE of WinterFell

Deepwood Motte is NW of Winterfell

In Episode 2, it was said that any northern houses that didn't make it to Winterfell are basically part of the NK's army, not just Last Hearth. Bear Island is in a better position to sit it out if they chose to do so.

But I'm not 100% sure on Deep Motte either, fam.

Castle black troops went around nk forces, east or west, who knows

My guess is west as it’s a shorter route

At this point, aren't the book and TV show their own things? While it's not a bad adaptation, I'm not sure it can be considered faithful to the book/story at this point. Even if you believe the show is faithful overall to the book, the show should be able to stand on its own.

If anyone has to read the book(s) to understand development of key characters or events, the show runner may not have translated the story well or per the norm are doing their own thing. Adaptations of any kind should be able to stand on it's own feet and should never require you to do research to keep up with, understand or enjoy the story.

Darkest scene from Game of Thrones S8E3 Brightened | The Long Night

I liked the Dark version, because it set ‘more horrifying / tragic’ tone for the episode.

But I also really, really like this brighter version, because you can clearly see all the colors, details, costumes, nuances & special effects, without any problems at all. It does look great!!

If they are smart, whenever HBO releases the Blue-Ray ‘box set’ versions at the end of the season... maybe they will ‘split the difference’ and end up using something much closer to the ‘lighter version’ for the DVDs. :dunno:

The night is dark and full of terrors.

Really I thought that was realistic. I can't remember if the kid was random, but he didn't know to fear Omar or was young enough not to respect Omar's history.

I agree. Omar’s death showed how anybody can get got in the street, how random it can be and how the new generation was getting more ruthless. Flowed into the narrative of the show. I didn’t need to see a a final shootout with Marlo or Chris and Snoop or something. And the show kind of gave us that anyway.

I guess, with GoT, you could argue that both Jon and Arya underwent the “hero’s journey” and GRRM is known for subverting conventional fantasy norms. But it just could’ve been executed better in a sense. Some kind of build up to show that she could be the “death” that kills Death. Or tricks it. A greater killer than Death itself. There was tension between Jon and the Night King that had been built over the seasons. Tension between Bran and the Night King as well. Even Melisandre and the Night King. Where was the tension between Arya and the Night King?

Agreed. It just seemed out of no where. Arya killing Cersei while wearing Jamie's face would be in line with the way the story seemed to be heading. In fact Arya killing Cersei while everyone else was fighting the NK probably would be closer to the norm for the story. It would also be predictable.

It just seem like it was a last minute call to go with the empowering women/girls movement of late. Similar to how a few years back gay characters/acts seemed to be forced into a lot of shows.
