Turns out dude that deserted was sent to search for White Walkers and found him. He was there searching with Lord Royce's son!

Show me one person that has said this season is as good as season one.

I and many others have said there is plenty that happened in this season that doesn’t make sense and that the season is rushed. It’s you guys who refuse to accept all of the clues the writers have been giving you over the years. I get you invested in the character being good. But instead of looking back and saying, “wow, I completely ignored all these clues over the years” you refuse and just say it was bad writing to make her “flip”.

If Daenerys had gotten the throne and everyone loved her, and everything was unicorns and roses, you cats would be saying what a great season it was.

Too invested in a character to have perspective.

Ita bad writing because the show was character driven where everything revolved around relationships which built up to the big action pieces. The last 2 seasons they have changed the story telling technique and pump faked on character arcs and the show has suffered because of it.

Out of the five espisodes this season, three of them were sitting around the hearth, character driven, relationship builidng or ending episodes.

The battles to kill the Night King and Cersei took less time than talking about it old times and seeing each other off.

So showing this person watching everything she planned and built be burned before her eyes, still holding on to a hope that was gone, reduced to begging for her life with everything she ever wanted lost at the end wasn’t enough. You wanted a soliloquy.

That's the whole point and the people that are trying to throw the "Team Dany" etc narrative knows that.
When you look at the progression of the writing and this season there's a glaring mismatch.

Nothing in those previous season says the raw-ness we got in this most recent episode is a natural progression and conclusion for this character. It just doesn't!
You don't go from slapping a fly that bite you on the hand to burning a whole city with women and children and try to justify that as a "natural progression." It just isn't!

That's the entire point of all of this. Sure, Dany could be a "mad queen" in the future. But as of today there are a lot of missing "stuff" in the middle to get to where they've bought the character today.

As an audience you're not supposed to conclude "well her father was mad so...she should be too"..huh?
What kinda logic is that when she had two other brothers, her uncle from the knights watch and a nephew in Jon Snow that didn't aren't associated with being "mad" from a hereditary stand point.
