If Winds of Winter Magically gets a release date out the blue it is no doubt in my mind that GRRM basically sabotaged the last 2 seasons because he had less and less influence.

Not true. But you gonna feel how you want. You want to have an enemy except the true enemy which are the writers.
You could have done another 10 seasons and people still would not have accepted Daenerys’ “turning”

People would want to find Drogon because if someone else is able to tame and mount him then world is in trouble again.

That person would either be another Targaeryen or a bad motherfucker and you’re already in trouble. Plus knowing where Drogon is wouldn’t stop either of those cases

You see this across many industries....even in sports. The run is over before the rest of us know it. I can both appreciate the entire show and even this season and also realize that they were obviously just mailing this in. After almost a decade, people just want to move on and do other things and it showed. The writers weren't in it. There was obviously a lot to tied up over this season so obviously there was no way everyone was going to be satisfied, but some of this was so bad that I think they were legitimately trolling us.. "Bran the Broken"? for real? And the Jon/Dany death scene was poorly written.

The actors were great...the material just wasn't there at the end. It feels like the real ending to this season was episode 3.

I don't think this was a Lost or Dexter ending though... those endings were so poorly done that I wanted to choke the shit out of the writers.

You missed the part right before this scene starts.... when Jon walks right by a line of Unsullied guards who are right outside the Throne Room. As he approaches Drogon who lets him in.

So when Drogon grabs Dany & takes off... is exactly when those Unsullied guards would have seen Dany’s lifeless body in his claws.

Not when he’s flown out over the harbor.

Go rewind the scene and count how many Unsullied guards Jon walks by before he gets to Drogon who is only a few steps away.

The Unsullied are posted all over the place. Standing guard. Just like Drogon.
no -
outside the throne room is the opposite direction of where Drogon flew - he flew out over the harbour not land - it is perpendicular and above by many feet to the landing where the guards were
drogon didn't fly along the walls he flew away

so you imagine that they could see through snow and fog a Drogon flying high over the harbour
not a guard in sight for hundreds of feet

I don't think this was an example of poor writing. The entire building was surrounded by The Unsullied. There's blood on the floor and Dany is gone.
since the dagger is still in her - and she was wearing a ton of clothes if there was any blood on floor it would be drops

It's not a case for CSI Westeros, but Jon would have blood on him. There would be blood on the ground. Dany is missing. And the dragon is flying off and Dany isn't on it and the entire building is surrounded by the Unsullied. What is Jon gonna say? I walked in the building and Dany wasn't in there??

You ignored the part where I said: “The Unsullied are posted ALL OVER.” (ie Not just at the front steps of the building.”)

You seem to think that the Unsullied only have a small handful of guards standing in 1 single spot To protect their Queen.... and nobody is guarding the rear. Or the sides of a collapsed building that can be entered from multiple directions.

As I’m watching over the previous seasons it hit me that no one bitched when Olenna admitted to poisoning Joffrey. How come that wasn’t bitched about as poor writing as they didn’t show clues that it was Olenna that did it? Oh that’s right y’all didn’t care cuz it was related to Joffrey’s death.

Go back and check out the episode when Joffery dies, the camera pans to Olenna. They give you clues it was her and if Im not mistaken, in the next episode she is talking to Little finger about the conspiracy, so you do know she plays a part.

no one saw Dany in drogons claws through snow and fog - they would have been too far away
Drogon flew out over the harbor not land

there was no blood on Jon... why?

- leaving the blade in when you stab someone or an animal in the heart - stops the heart & circulation- no circulation prevents bleeding
- Jon is a lifelong killer and hunter - he knows how to perform a clean kill
-Dany is wearing alot of clothes - that will absorb some blood

there would be little blood on the floor

Watched this shit again .... so much shit that makes no sense. Jon’s ending makes no sense. They built his Targaryen secret up for years..... and only 8 people end up knowing. ....

He kills Dany .... we don’t get any visuals of the arrest or anything ... they spoke of how he killed her ... yet there were no witnesses.... so he just went and voluntarily told the whole story ?

Makes no sense how they continuously tell him who he is during the show yet he gets arrested and doesn’t reveal what could possibly get him off? He was the rightful heir therefore Dany was a usurper .....and Bran knows this truth. Yet the dude who doesn’t really live in the present ... somehow is cool with being King.

He says maybe he can find Drogon..... but doesn’t try. The Unsullied and basically the Iron Islands Force a dude that was just King in the North to the Wall???

The dude who has the most leadership experience and ALL the people already love him ..... gets sent to the wall and the human history book becomes king ......

This was terrible.
Yup

The writers could have just had Gray Worm and some soliders run in the room once the Dragon flys off and surround John.... then faded to Black to clear that up...

So if we give you all of that.

How is Jon going to explain Dany disappearing right as he goes to see here and everyone knows she's inside? He's just going to lie and say she wasn't there? Or he's going to lie and see she hopped on the dragon and went ghost right as she gets to the Iron Throne?

What sense would that make considering Jon isn't a liar and Dany isn't just going to abandon everyone just as she's won?

Man, how bad was that last scene with them all at the table when Tyrion rearranged the chairs before they met?

That was utter cheese bro. It felt like a scene from an entirely different show. The writing, the discourse, the exchange. Man that was bad.

I'm not disagreeing with the number unsullied on guard - I'm saying none were near enough to see - the logistics you imagine do not exist on screen

there were no guards for hundreds of feet around Drogon at the entry - and even if they were sitting right next to drogon - its the opposite direction Drogon flew off from when leaving the throne room

the wall Drogon flew out of is over the harbor not land - any unsullied on this side would be below on ramparts / landings and as seen in the build up to the scene and as drogon flew off the snow and fog would prevent any real visibility after a few feet

Funny because I literally said that was it was happening...i was like this feels like a completely different show right now. I don't even understand why Tyrion was organizing the chairs like that. Then Bronn started rambling, etc.... it seemed so pointless....like I can't believe that even made it through the editing room. Everyone writing/editing was just ready for it to end man.... they didn't have anything left to give.

previously on the show -Dany has flown off on drogon for long periods of time - they were used to her doing it in Mereen

Jon telling the truth is the only thing that makes sense -

And Tyrion dictating terms, giving out nicknames, setting the pecking order, law of the land, and naming a King while being a prisoner.

And Bran going from "I don't want it.. I don't want anything" to "why do you think I came this long way" in the next breath.

It was all so weird.

I felt like that scene was a callback to season 3 when Tywin came back as hand of the king and changed the seating arrangements...had all the chairs on one side with his at the head of the table...cersei came in and moved her chair to the other side next to him and Tyrion moved his seat to the opposite end of the table directly opposed to Tywin.

Feel like Tyrion was rearranging the chairs so things were more equal and less adversarial :dunno:

Man that entire episode was one big middle finger to Grey Worm. Every scene was confirmation that he was a powerless, voiceless, prop. He was a man with no balls figuratively and literally.

I get you.

However, it it would have been mad weird for her to do it right after she won and immediately after Jon came to see here.... and especially after the run-in that Grey Worm and Jon had just had where he was clearly mad af.

and Jon's dagger would have been missing. Man.....no way Jon gets out of that with a "I don't know where Dany is... I'll send yall a raven if I find her... 5000 g"

More importantly it’s later explained how it happened and why. But of course this was when they still had source material.
