Goddamn gas prices

I understand that because I’ve paid high ass gas prices before and he wasn’t president…

My question was more about voting for him, will assuming the final push for clean air act that was started in the early 70’s, would see a great push.

Knowing his push would affect my source of income by reducing the need for it.

So my question should we vote for the greater good of the world(per say) or what’s best for me and mines

The GOP today gives no Fucks about the environment or climate change, we saw it fully with Trump and the foolishness he did.

It’s interesting with that because it was GOP President Richard Nixon who created the EPA. The GOP today acts like he didn’t exist.

Democrats are pro-environmental. We saw it first with President Carter when he put solar panels on the White House (and President Reagan removed them because he supported Big Oil). Clinton and Obama didn’t put them back cuz they didn’t want to make the GOP mad.

If you care about the environment and the future of the planet for your kids, grandchildren, etc…you vote Democratic.

If you don’t give two Fucks about the environment or climate and only care about today and making that money…you vote Republican.

I’ve been in a 4 cylinder loaner for a week and I was so glad to get my v8 back today. I wish it was a v12. These gas prices won’t break me into buying a damn Tesla.

Jagu does BMW still make that V12 2 seater they used to have way back? I think it was the 850 IS?

Lemme ask y'all a question:
I know that the gas is currently the winter blend, but doesn't it seem like gas seems to not last that long? Do you all think it has anything to do with the ethanol content? Seriously, I have a readout that tells me how much MPG I should expect with a fresh tank. Normal readout is 320 Miles distance. I fill up lately and it can be as low as 270 on a full tank.

They're fuckin with us.
the range forecaster goes by the overall driving style and vehicle performance- so you could have been doing alot of bad driving techniques ( rabbit starts , low tire pressure, driving above the optimal speed vs drag (ie above 60mph a lot of car mileage advantages drop as you drive above 70 or 80 mph because of drag due to car design ) etc.

USA gets 8% of it's oil from Russia.

8%!!! How can gas prices climb that high over an 8% loss we can easily make up for?

giphy.gif
because ALL oil is placed on an open market when its sold - so we buy oil at X dollars PBL based not on just the russians but also the saudis venezuela north sea canada mexico...any oil producing country.

Spring Break is coming in 2 weeks.

That’s the unofficial start to the summer travel season.

Flying on a plane is a complete pain in the ass, so folks have taken to driving/road trips.

Folks gonna be pissed the majority of their party money is going into the gas tank.

Also, hearing on the news that gas station /convenience store owners are complaining that customers are only coming for gas and not purchasing merchandise like coffee, drinks and snacks.

Damn I thought I was the only one that noticed this....I got gas back in January while driving back from SC to DC at my spot in Fredericksburg, VA (fyi - the exit for route 1 always has cheap gas for some odd reason) and the MPG said close to 500....The last few trips to Costco and it's always 389 or 395...I am like WTF???

Man I’ve been noticing that for over a year now but I thought it was just my car

It’s always 40+ less mikes than what it was in the past.

I know we love our silly generalizations on BGOL but I think there's more to it than "not giving two fucks".

Remember 30 years ago when "climate change" used to be called global warming and they said the earth would be destroyed by 2020? It didn't happen so we just got a rebrand. Nobody can predict the future with certainty and spending trillions of dollars to basically "hope" things work out is foolish.

Yall really expect the same people who bungled Covid to save us from a MUCH more complex system :smh:

Ultimately it's all about keeping Russia hemmed in because if they fulfilled what H man was trying to do and United Europe under one rule they would unseat the US hegemony. Everything else is secondary. Even China wouldn't want that to happen.

if the democrats were pro environmental, why don't they support Nuclear energy?
