Guy in firing booth next to me had an AR that was just a piece of crap. I fired the PDP and watched him amused as he went through his immediate actions. All kinds of issues. Rounds wouldn’t extract, to me I think the gas tube and pressure was bad and the Magazines wouldnt seat. Pulled out my AR and burned off 6 30 rounders. He was still over there wrestling with his AR. It looked nice though lol also he never field stripped it to inspect the bolt carrier group. Don’t think he up on knowing his gear.
I absolutely love my PDP. Got the fullsize frame in 4.5" and am thinking bout getting another one in a compact frame with a 5" barrel.

I've seen plenty of expensive looking ARs and AR shotguns having issues. After the experience I had with building my 300 Blackout, I will never buy another AR. It's much better building it from the bottom up. When I finish my 224 Valkyrie build, I may build one more but more than likely I'll probably get a bolt action rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor or better first.

Good info.
I've learned a lot from the members in my NAAGA chapter over the past few months during my AR build process. Barrel length and the impact they have on particular calibers was a major part of it. Helped me avoid buying the wrong types of barrels and also getting the most out of any ammo I elect to shoot. That's why it's important to have a specific purpose/intention for the type of gun you're buying so you don't accidentally end up with a McRib purchase. Shorter barrels are the new fad but unless the intended round is made for that shorter barrel then you're never gonna get the full potential out of it. Same thing I'm learning with my 224 Valkyrie build. While the standard .223/5.56 is at it's best with at least a 16" barrel, if I go with anything under a 20" I can never get 100% powder burn and as a result won't be able to get the 800 - 1000 yard distances the round was made for. It'd basically be an expensive .223/5.56 at that point instead.

I missed that 6.5 Creedmoor upper build for $500. This one.

I’m going to build one. You can buy the rifle preassembled for $1100-$1200.

I'm gonna do 6.5 Creedmoor in bolt action. AR platform will never beat a bolt action for precision shooting. Too many moving parts that end up affecting the accuracy. That's why so many snipers use bolt action rifles. I personally got my eye on the Ruger Precision rifle as an option. Either way I know I'm gonna be looking at spending around at least $1K on the scope

I already got a Axis II Precision in 6.5 and .308. Both bolt. Yup, why I went with the bolt first. My buddy has that Ruger and a .224. He’s a shooting wizard lol

I picked up a Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action in 300 WinMag.... It's my favorite rifle right now. The accuracy is amazing. It's topped with a Leupold 3x9. I'm going on an Elk hunt this October.

What yall think?

I just picked up the G2C for my wife... I totally got it for me! The first one I got Smith & Wesson MP9. It was a really big for her, so I was in the market for something smaller for her and something that I can use for a CCL whenever I take the classes.

What kind of glass y'all got on your rifles? My boy just put me on to the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30x56 joints & they run about $1100 MSRP

Picked up the SW M&P 15-22 recently and I have to say this joint is worth it... Inexpensive, cheap ammo, just a fun gun to take to the range and fire a bunch of rounds... Based off of my opinion of the 15-22, I'm inclined to get the M&P 15 5.56/.223 as well... That'll be after I scoop that Maverick 88

I have a Leupold VX Freedom 3x9 with a 4omm objective lens. I know that most people like those 50mm objectives, but then you have to have higher rings so the bell won't touch the barrel. I like my bells to be as low as possible. I mount my scopes myself. I always use steal rings as well. I like to be upon my shit when I shoot, so I make sure that the proper "eye relief" is there too (because the 300 WinMag kicks like a mule).

This is a real hunting rifle, not a sniper's rifle. I've seen guys at the range with them "Night Force" scopes. I don't know why you need that stuff if you're not a Marine Sniper or a member of S.W.A.T. or something.

I told myself, 300-400 yards is my max. If an animal is past that distance, then I'll move closer. I've seen guys shooting at targets 800-1000 yards away. Why??? Yep, the 300 WinMag can kill at those distances, but I'm not trying to go get the animal at 1000 yards, then haul the animal back that far. No telling how many trips you have to make. I'm practical...

I'm not in the hunting world but I totally get what you're saying. My precision rifles will be mainly for sport as a hobby. I'm currently working with an AR15 chambered in 5.56 running a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6x24 SFP scope to introduce me to precision shooting so by the time I finish building my 224 Valkyrie I can push the limits of the AR15 platform out to the 800-1000 yard threshold. Then I can jump into the bolt-action game & start looking at 1000+ yard territory

That makes sense. I know guys who are into professional target shooting, and they push their guns to the limits. They are sticklers when it comes to "DOPE" (Data Of Previous Engagement), bullet weight, and even powder grains.

What kind of holster you like?

Also, what kind of slings y'all running? I need some slings for AR pistol & rifle
I'm not really picky over holster brands. Both of my side holsters and my double shoulder holster is made of the same material. However, I don't care too much for plastic holsters.

So many tools out there I want to get. I’m debating getting the shield plus performance for my new carry an putting the P10C up. I just watched a few vids on the Beretta 1301 comp pro, now I want that joint. Don’t need it though, maybe I will go Panzer M4.
I still need to get glass for my AR-V an MPR. I hate to spend money on glass but I want a lpvo for the MPR so I’m going to spend at least $5-700 just to get in the game.

I copped my Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6x24 for within that price range as my 1st scope. Next one will be a FFP scope as it will go on a rifle that will shoot in the 800 - 1000 yard range. If you wanna spend lower then you can go for like a Vortex Strike Eagle 1x8x24 for around $400. I went with the Viper over the Strike Eagle, despite the lower zoom, cuz the glass was much better & clearer

Yeah I had the Viper in mind. From what the reviews are saying it’s the best out for the price range by far. To get better I will have to jump up in price considerably an I really don’t have anywhere to even shoot far like that anyway.

I already know I'm gonna have to pay close to $1K for my next scope

Don't sleep on the 1301, I just copped and it cycles smooth as butter. Transitions like a SBS, serious competition to my Benelli M4...

Yeah I watched a lot of videos on it, an read some articles.. its actually the most used gun in the competitions now, so its got to be the shit! I just don't need another shotgun right now or at least not for my next firearm. I will get one eventually.

I'm still researching optics for my Ruger MPR and PSA AR-V I got. I'm debating replacing the trigger in the AR-V and outfitting them.

Springfield guns seem to have no resale value whatsoever.
not the mass produced ones. the one i have does. but i am not willing to come off the price. i am selling for 700.00 and no lower. doesnt even have 5 rounds through it. but people want to low ball and i would rather keep it and turn it into something else that i have seen another enthusiast do that i didnt even know you could do. but first i would need a tax stamp....i just aint got it like that.

Good luck. Most I've seen any XDM go for is $700 brand new. Even if you only have 5 rounds through it, it's still used & will be a tough sell
