You and these battle belts. Man, I like making do or re-purposing stuff I already have. I want something I can just throw over my shoulder and run out the house with, with one of these strapped to it and maybe a couple handgun mag holders

Trying not to give in to consumerism, but you got me thinking "would I really use one?"
I plan on training & practicing with my carry holster not something mounted on a battle belt.

Hmm, not sure
I have 1 for the range for when I want to have fun with rifle and pistol for drills but the home one is more practical. When something goes bump in the night, most people aren't wearing anything that has pockets and aren't likely to remember to grab an extra mag or shells. My battle belt takes care of all that allowing me to carry extra pistol mags, have my pistol holstered while running my 300Blk, have a spare mag for the 300Blk and a pouch for any misc items I may need. Better to be ready than to have to get ready

In regard to your HD rig, what are you doing about the inner belt or manner of securing the belt to your waist during an HD situation? Do you have go pants that the rig is already attached to?

The inner belt has a softer material so it's not abrasive against the body. Because it attaches to the outer belt via strong velcro, it allows the outer belt and buckle to determine how firm it stays on your body. The ratcheting buckle makes the difference.

Still not a fan of shotguns for myself. I'm good with my pistol for home defense. It's meant to buy me time to get to my 300Blk anyways and I can maneuver around corners a hell of a lot easier with my pistol & 300Blk than I can with a standard shotgun anyways.

Biggest problem I see from ppl watching a video like this is a lot of them won't train with their shotguns thinking it's easy to use so they won't be familiar with how to clear jams or reload quickly while under duress.
Yeah, training is everything. Short barreled shotguns are great for clearing rooms, especially when you learn to short stock and push-pull them for working corners. Same with SBRs.

I tried to get all three in the pic, its hard to see the 3rd.

Whats funny is how they run when they see me, sometimes they look at me when I got the scope on 'em and scramble like hell. One time a squirrel was running, jumped from hickory branch to pine branch, starts coming down branch toward trunk & facing me. I up rifle and he turns around and runs back to end of pine branch & jumps to another branch. Lol

Then other times it's like 5 squirrels in the same tree and I get to sniping.. and the others don't really move much. That's when I'm able to get a few in one sitting. Usually when I'm using subs.

Speaking of... where y'all getting subsonic from? The few I had I found at Dick's years ago and just kept them.
Murderer.......
Lol

I'm pretty handy with most things around the house, but have never done any metal smithing. How difficult would this be for an average person with average tools?
He pretty did an off-the-shelf build, not doing anything special. He's got the parts list posted

The process is more assembly than building. Depending on if you order an assembled lower and upper. A quality punch set, hammer, vice, and an AR armorer's wrench is about all you will need.

Getting close to my goal of reloading. Waiting for a few more components to come in and getting some lessons from ppl in my chapter who are already reloading 308, 6.5 Creedmoor and 300Blk. I plan on reloading 224 Valkyrie, 300Blk and probably 6.5 Creedmoor

If you plan on selling your services out later, load ammo for hunters (.270, .308, .30-06, 7mm Mag, .300 Win Mag)... you'll be in demand quickly.

6.5 Creedmore is popular for target shooters; I'm not sure about the 224 Valkyrie. I know hunters need ammo, and if your reloading at a good price, you'll have steady clientele for sure.

Good luck to you.

Probably won't sell my services. I don't wanna take responsibility in case someone encounters any issues. As for 224 Valkyrie, it's the caliber I currently run on my precision AR. I'll probably take on 6.5 Creedmoor down the road when I join an outdoor range that has targets at distances 800yds and up. And for 300Blk I plan on getting a bolt-action rifle so I can have fun with my suppressor and shoot subsonic loads regularly like most ppl shoot their .223/5.56

Bro, I was looking into purchasing a .700 NE rifle.
Welp, I found one for 25k! The per round cost was $50. for low velocity target rounds and upwards of $150 for the stout rounds.
I feel you.

I can't justify purchasing a rifle in that caliber. I know the white cat said that he used it on an elephant in Africa. But I don't plan on hunting elephants.

I'm doing research now for my next purchase. It's coming down to the .375 H&H vs the .416 Rigby. These are rifles for big game. My hunting club is planning a trip to Hawaii and Africa. I'm interested in getting a Kudu from Africa.

I'm leaning toward the .375 H&H now though, because the round is readily available, and it can reach out a little further than the .416.

Here's where your bredren have to talk you down mein. Don't do it.

Think about all the pistols you can get, rifles you can own.

A few years ago a civil war canon came up for sale, it was only $5k & I had the money. I'm glad I didn't get it. A tank or armored personnel carrier is a better investment, or a humvee.

I appreciate that Bro. This was a few years ago, once I saw the price of entry I said fuck that. My next rabbit hole has to be reloading. I've been fucking around with the notion for years, it's well time that I get my shit sorted.

Tank or APC you say, do tell??? :hellyea:

I'm just entering that rabbit hole right now. Was at a friend's house yesterday learning. By this weekend I should have all the equipment I need to start prepping the brass I have. I'll do at least another 2 visits to my friend's spot and go through the process again before I start making ladder tests for my precision rounds. I'm starting off with 224 Valkyrie so I can make the rounds that my rifle likes the most and hopefully have subMOA accuracy. Afterwards, when I get a bolt-action 300Blk rifle, I'll start making subsonic loads as I don't need to be as specific in the components needed.

Heck yeah. I'm about to build a .308 for next year, you get some good loads worked up and have extra, holla at me.
