Dude. Yo hate gonna hate this show then. Trust me. Cause it ain’t like GOT.
Meh, I was underwhelmed by the first episode.. but I will keep watching... and give it some time.
Not feeling this new Targaryen chic who has replaced Daenerys.
Daenerys was fine as hell.
But this new chic is a mud duck.
So now I'm skeptical about who the hell is gonna be the new Missandei??
I can appreciate a good script.... but I need some "eye candy" also.
Just saying.

Who was the mad king in relation to him? Oh yeah Jamie killed the mad king so it years in the future.
This takes place over 150 years before GOT. Mad King was dead 17 years prior to that. I am not sure which family line the Mad King is from. He is the son of someone that has not been born yet, could be from any current heir. Book readers will have to confirm.
Yeah. Watching him get cut up on the throne like that and hearing about the mad king getting cut up on the throne like that had me jump the gun.
Solid first episode. I was a bit confused at first because of the similarity in names between Princess (Queen who never was) Rhaenys and the actual female lead Princess Rhaenyra. I didn't remember the story of Princess Rhaenys getting passed over from the throne from the source material, but apparently it lays the foundation for the conflict to come in the show.
Speaking of the source material, the novella "Fire and Blood" is basically a factual history of what happened to this generation of Targaryens. It's not really a dramatical story. The good news is that means the writers of the TV show have some room to work with in terms of fleshing out the characters and plot lines. The better news is that GRRM is directly involved in the creative process of this show unlike GOT so we won't have a Dave and Dan (Dumb and Dumber) situation here.
Based on what I know about the source material and how the writer and director handled the first episode, there's no reason House of the Dragon can't be as good as GOT at it's best. The political intrigue and machinations of characters to secure the throne should be on the same level. The only difference really is the scope of the show. House of the Dragon won't have characters off in different parts of the world as much as GOT did. I think that's a good thing.
I was also intrigued by the conversation King Viserys had with Princess Rhaenys about the "big secret" around why It was important that a Targaryen had to be on the throne. That bit was DEFINITELY NOT from the source material and I'm very curious how they weave that in as the show progresses.

I enjoyed it.
Started off a bit slow. Actually stopped watching after 15mins cause my girl feel asleep and I had to turn it off. But then I woke up randomly at 3am and finished it lol.
Hate thier white wigs..shits bothersome for some reason lol.
That tourney was brutal AF sob.
did the hand of the king , Hightower, send his daughter in to "comfort the king" or was I tripping?
That dragon aint nothing to play with, I assume it takes a dragon to beat a dragon if/when the war pops off.
