HBO chief responds to George R. R. Martin's digs at 'House of the Dragon'
HBO chief Casey Bloys is weighing in after George R.R. Martin recently published and deleted a blog post critical of 'House of the Dragon': 'Marriages can be difficult.'
They don't go into details but they do mention it in the series. Valaryians used blood magic to control the dragons which is why only people with their blood can control them
They just need to follow the books and don;t create any new gay characters or female heroes for the series.

As someone who read the books before the series came out I hate this guy.
He wrote/gardened himself into a corner he doesn't know how to resolve
What's the corner he wrote himself into? I haven't read the books so I wouldn't know.
I think he made some agreement with HBO not to finish the books until all the series and spins off were done.
There are a TON of subplots going on in the books.
IMO D&D did a good job of trimming the fat on his original work. But he has so many auxiliary characters and plots Book wise, I do not see how he can tie all of the stories/subplots up in a concise manner.
