at the last press conference Mueller clearly said that if called to testify he would not say anything that wasn't already in the report.

So what was the point of the damn hearing?

All I can think is that either a) Democrats hope he would say "impeach the bastard" which is something he already said he wouldn't do. Or b) the Republicans hope he would say something that contradicted the 400+ page report and discredit the entire thing.

Either way it looks like this cool song and dance is going to end exactly as I predicted. Nothing changes. Nobody gets impeached. Trump continues with the fuckary. At the end of his term be either

a) wins the second term
b) resigns in the final months so that president Mike pence can pardon him federally and uses the Russians to find dirt on de Blasio so he can't be charged on the state level either.

I'm with fonz on this one. I know what people "want", but I don't know what they really expected.

The man spent months working on an investigation. He spells out pretty much everything that you could spell out in a lengthy, detailed report that included less detailed summaries of items that were more easily digestible.

He held a press conference and literally said that if you put him in front of Congress, he'd just be repeating what he already said in the report. The dude is a straight shooter that could give zero fucks about the public's need for a soundbite to chew on.

One person dropping a quote bomb isn't going to solve what's wrong with our country. In fact, people's desire for that to be the case is part of what has us in this situation.

Congress has what it needs to get the job done. They just need to do their actual job, and we already know that this crew has no intention of doing that. So instead of just acting all surprised/disappointed when the same old thing happens from the same old people, maybe we should keep working on what we need to do to get rid of the same old people.
